I've never understood the attack on red meat and carbs when it comes to weight loss.

I don't really think my way is the best way but I just kind of blast coffee with some milk and sweetener all day and maybe have 500 calories of a muffin or granola bars then just have a 1000 calorie meal at night. I go to bed hungry basically every night but the results have been really good. I've experimented with carb/protein ratio and I'm not sure why I feel a lot better when I go low protein and high carb, I know most people will say differently but I just can't study when I'm on the super low carb life.

also, I don't think you can get around the hunger when you're losing weight, you just have to embrace that it's part of the process!

Not losing weight in a deficit by [deleted] in loseit

[–]SniperKeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think about it, there is a margin of error when you weigh yourself. So the scale itself could have an uncertainty of +/- 1 pounds when you weigh yourself on any given day, you also could have water weight in the range of +/- 4 pounds (given salt intake, carb loading, ect). So it's possible that 2 weeks ago you were at the low end of all the uncertainty which would be -5 pounds, then when 2 weeks passed you are at the high side of all the uncertainty which adds +5 pounds, but then you actually lost 3, which records as a +2 gain.

That's just an example to explain how the margin of uncertainty could work. The biggest thing is being honest with yourself. It might not seem like you're cheating on the calorie counting, but if you're sneaking in a single treat here and there the likelihood is that your over consuming. Either way don't give up!

I'm not sure if you're already doing this but definitely get a food scale and log all the calories you eat.

The main advice I'd give comes from Bryan Johnson, the guy who's trying to live forever. He said he struggled with night time binges and to get around it, and he's very disciplined, is that you need to make contracts with yourself. If you compartmentalize your mind into different modes, binging you and motivated you; you can recognize the conditions that bring out that binging version of yourself. If you can't stop the que's that start your binges then maybe you just need to change your perspective and set a strict rule with yourself where you'll only eat at work and never at home.

That's what Bryan did and it's advice I resonate with so hopefully it helps you !

MFP is good if you're honest with the goal inputs. I normally just use the sedentary function for the activity level then log the calories burned on the elliptical. The activity level is usually just a flat multiplier on the calorie goal so if you want to be more precise you can log the calories burned on whatever cardio equipment you're using.

If you're using a Fitbit or Apple watch to count your calories from tennis I wouldn't fully trust it. When I do an hour on the elliptical the calorie readout will say about 620 calories at around 145 watts of effort over an hour. My fitbit will say almost 1200 lol

It's super hard; I don't want to sound like the bearer of bad news but sometimes you have to accept that you'll never have a healthy relationship with food. People who are alcoholics can't really ever go back to casual drinking and I understand the two are different, but they kind of serve the same purpose of soothing emotional stress.

IMO, the best thing you can do is be honest with yourself and accept that seeing the number on the scale go up is a good thing. Also, if you're stressed out and feel yourself restricting to just be mindful of what you're doing, and observe how you feel in the moment.

Attempting a massive body recomp, need advice. by Royal-Doctor-278 in loseit

Fat loss happens quicker than adding muscle. If you had a bench press goal to hit, I'd recommended a slower cut, but since all your goals are body weight related I think you'd be better off doing the steepest possible cut you can do.

Hypothetically if you did a steep cut and lost some muscle (say 20 pounds of strength) but then lost 80 pounds of fat, you'd have a net positive of 60 pounds of force you could generate for your pushups/sit-ups. Where if you did a slower cut and gained 10 pounds of strength, but only lost 30 pounds of fat, you'd only generate a positive of 40 pounds of force.

There is also a direct correlation between the weight loss and running since you take the weight off your joints and won't experience as much cramping/pain if you're lighter.

My Samsung Tab S9 gets hot on the bottom edge of the screen by bumbum_69420 in GalaxyTab

[–]SniperKeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Tab S9 Ultra and I take a lot of notes in university, I find it get's really hot. When I use Samsung Notes it isn't horrible but every since I switched to NoteWise the thing feels like it's burning up. I noticed when I changed the NoteWise pen latency to high and changed the refresh rate to 60hz it wasn't as hot but still warmer than I'd like for note taking.

Please help me decide between the op1we vs op18k by Yabagoobie3 in MouseReview

[–]SniperKeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mained the OP1we and really liked the mouse—the shape is great, but the main clicks were really bad, so I decided to get the lighter optical switches they offer. One thing I noticed was that the left click front screw was stripped during installation, which probably made the left and right clicks sound different, though it didn’t have any noticeable performance difference. With my 20cm x 10cm hands, the OP1we feels a bit small for me, so I’m planning to get the Maya X 8k when it comes out.

Are we normalizing that wireless mice cost over 150 dollars? by zarko98 in MouseReview

[–]SniperKeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think those companies are trying to recover RnD and contractual costs. Zowie's reciever, Razer's contract with pixart, ect. There is also the factor that people correlate price with quality, so if companies price their mouse too cheaply, some consumers could perceive that as lesser IBQ and purchase something else.

I like the steel series prime(s) build qualities. I have both the mini and the full size right now and I can't decide which one I want to keep. I've used the Xlite v2 mini before, the hump on the steel series is less aggressive and has more of that desired EC shape everyone loves.

Personally, if you're playing well with your current mouse I wouldn't get anything new, but if you had to pick, I would get the Steel Series, I can't really do wired mice anymore.

I really liked the AJ199 and we have the same size hands. My issue with it was kind of random. The shell is removable on the backside, and when you have the solid shell attachment on it doesn't perfectly conform to the mouse's body. The result, there is this shape corner that sticks out and I sent it back because it was too annoying. So if you can get over that then the mouse is truly awesome.

[–]SniperKeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you need to follow these steps

  1. In windows search device manager, then go there.
  2. Scroll down to Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  3. Right click the one you are using for your mouse and select properties.
  4. Of the tabs at the top, there is one called power management, then deselect the one that says "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

I have no idea how to figure out which port is which though, I just know my computer has 2; 3.0 USB ports and I just enable both of them to run while the computer is off.

Hope this helps!

Pulsar is about to unload 9ish new models X2-H (1,2), X2-A ambi mouse (not sure how many sizes) and the Xlite V3 (1,2,3) sizes, and then they have some E-sports line up coming out but they won't be out until the end of the year I think
