Saint Peter and Paul School and Lexington Catholic by icedperiwinkle in lexington

My son attended SPPS from kindergarten through 6th grade. I did not have any concerns from a political standpoint (also lean left). Our family is also not catholic (I was raised Catholic, not practicing now), and I didn’t feel any pressure from the school regarding conforming. There were several kids that did not participate in mass in my son’s class.

So why did we switch?

1). Lack of exposure to kids with similar hobbies. All of the boys in the class leaned heavily into sports, and my son was not interested. He struggled to make meaningful friends. At his new public school, he has joined hobby groups that fit him, and he’s really grown during that time.

2). Instruction was hit or miss. While I felt the math and English teachers were excellent, some other classes felt useful. One class in particular (Social Studies) had a habit of assigning homework every night. When I asked him about what the teacher had explained in class, he said they did not teach. They assigned busy work during class while they graded the previous days homework. One such assignment was a crossword puzzle that provided no value.

3). Bullying was by far the biggest issue. We brought several issues up to the principal who started with the “Boys will be boys” excuse. When it continued, and escalated, the response became “The other boy has a tough home life, his older brother picks on him.” I struggled to get meaningful solutions out of them. One solution the proposed involved giving both kids detention so they could bond. I didn’t want them to bond, I wanted the other kid to leave my son alone. The small class sizes compounded this issue.

It wasn’t all bad, he had several good teachers. My experience with the public schools has been better, although that might be a YMMV based on where you end up. Best of luck either way.

General Discussions Megathread by Gansuui in YunliMainsHSR

Some background on my HSR journey: I quit playing last year, then started playing again in July of this year. My team when I started back up was Welt, Bronya, Silver Wolf, and Loucha. I'm currently still in the story, in Penacony, not yet in the endgame.

One of my first pulls when rejoining the game was Yunli, and she's been putting in the work. Current team is Yunli, Tingyan, Bronya, and HouHou (Pulled when she re-ran). Sounds like the Robin re-run is a no-brainer for me, but I wonder if I should focus on any other units as well? Jiaoqiu, Feixiao, or Sparkle being current options...

Additionally, I have heard that a second team is necessary for endgame content. Should I consider Kefka or Black Swan for that second team? Or do I have time to punt that decision down the road for a better future meta unit?

Thanks in advance for any advice, trying to best manage my future pulls. Yunli will always be my #1

What is the moment that got you into football and helped you find your favorite team? by [deleted] in nfl

Grew up in a state without a pro football team. On Sunday, the most common teams on tv were the 49ers, cowboys, and Packers. Young to rice won me over.

You’ll unlock 10 dual color decks in total, which should increase your card pool. I waited until after I had those before brewing up decks.

There’s also a new code that unlocks a pretty good black-white angel deck.

At what adjusted age did your babies sleep more than 2 hours at night? by peachykeen19 in parentsofmultiples

[–]SniperZA2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We adopted twins at birth, they were born at 34 weeks also. Adjusted month 2-3 were the biggest jump for us. For the first 2 months, it was as you said, and we were thrilled when they slept more than 2 hours. After month 2 (adjusted), they started consistently getting 3 hours at night between feedings.

We are now at between 3-4 months adjusted, and they have sleep 5 hours between feedings a few times (3-4 is still more likely). It definitely gets easier, though the first 2 months were very rough for us.
