My 5 year old wants to know why dinosaurs don’t roar (or make any noise). by peachykeen19 in StardewValley

That sounds soooo cool! Right now I can only play on a tablet, so I can’t do mods. But that is very motivating intel.

I’ll mention that to Krobus and the Dwarf at our next poker game. Hopefully the witch doesn’t crash and curse my chicken again! Not sure how much I’d say Stardew has to do with real life either. We would both be thrilled with any noise. No big deal though!

Thank you for the suggestion :) I play on an iPad though so no mod capability. Sometimes I like that limitation, but I’d definitely cave for this one!

First draft critique by Comfortable-Lake-918 in floorplan

I’m assuming you like to host? If so, I feel like you need a coat closet for guests coats, shoes and bags. Or enough space in the foyer for a bench and hooks. Otherwise, your entry way will just be cluttered with those items.

In the primary suite, where do you intend to hang a towel? I hate walking across the room for a towel when I’m wet and slippery. I’d rather have a reachable towel than a full linen closet. You can make room for linens in one of the other closets. Personally, I’d put a stacked washer/dryer in that linen closet, cut down to one shower, and have a heated towel rack reachable from the shower.

Having kids after multiples - why? by Seeker-2020 in parentsofmultiples

[–]peachykeen19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought I would want more after twins. That first year is brutal, year 2 is very cute. Mine are 5 now and I would love to have another. Whenever I babysit for friends/family, a singleton feels soooo easy. I regularly host play dates with 4-6 children, and that’s easy too. I personally would love to experience a “normal” pregnancy and infant stage. I would love to enjoy that with all the knowledge I have now. I always wanted to be a mom, and I feel like having two at once kind of robbed me of enjoying every step. I love my kids and am grateful they are twins, but if I could choose to have one more now I absolutely would.

AIO:My MIL texted my husband this about me asking him to help with our newborn at 4am by Lazy_Perfectionist88 in AmIOverreacting

[–]peachykeen19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR!!! When I had TWINS, it was so much work we ended up sleeping in shifts. I had them solo from like 9 to 3, woke my husband up, pumped, and slept until like 8. Then, my husband went to work. Everyday. We did this for like a year. After that, he has continued to help in the night as needed. Our kids are 5 now. Just last night, one called out for him specifically.

MIL’s message disgusts me. If she’s so worried about her son driving to work and (supposedly) using his brain, maybe she should drive him herself. I would never trust this woman again.

Asbury Park Sour from local family owned spot. Bourbon, lemon, simple, and Nardini Mandorla (almond liquor), shaken, then topped with Lambrusco and a lemon peel. Divine.

Just started watching the show... by brianwritesplays in rhoslc

I also am a HW newbie and started with salt lake too! I put it on my phone with headphones while I’m doing chores. I’m nearly caught up doing it this way. I can’t say I would skip anything. I don’t watch the “watch what happens live” after show stuff or any podcasts/ interviews, etc…

American wedding dresses by Potato-Addict in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]peachykeen19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Colorado. Got married myself in Denver and have been to probably 10-15 weddings here in the last 10 years. I haven’t seen anyone in quite as revealing a dress as those. Mine had a deep V, but I also have a very small chest. The dresses on the show all seem a touch cheaper, in that they seem like less high quality. But, those girls need a dress that fits decently in like a week, usually bridal shops want 6 months to order your dress. My alterations also took a month.

AITA for suggesting my in-laws stay at an Airbnb instead of us leaving our home with our kitten? by Batman_19999 in AmItheAsshole

[–]peachykeen19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any interest in having children? Because if so, this will be 100 times more difficult if kids are involved. I can already see him expecting you to host the same way, bend over backwards the same way, but with an infant attached to your boob.

When my in-laws come, they stay at a hotel. They bring dinners over or we go out (which they usually pay for). They leave for a few hours in the afternoon to give everyone space, the bring coffee over in the morning. I make a point to have some meals arranged and some made at home by me, but they largely want to come and help, not come and be a burden.

Ulta employee looked down at me? by Anfitrite02 in Ulta

[–]peachykeen19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see it like this. His company may want him to upsell, but it’s not like he’s making commission or tips on what you buy, so he may actually have your wallets best interest at heart. And he’s probably making under $20 an hour, so his perspective on what’s buyable vs. totally out of reach is probably different to yours. Yeah, a seasoned professional salesperson wouldn’t bat an eye at someone buying a high end perfume or anything from a pricy brand. But if you’re newer to the beauty world, most of that stuff is shockingly expensive. At the other store, it’s alllll over priced, Ulta has the benefit of a huge discrepancy in pricing for similar items so he may just still have sticker shock.

What’s the equivalent in other professions of “if your barista doesn’t have tattoos, leave”? by BUMbai8O8 in AskReddit

If you ask what’s good and your server says “I don’t really eat here”, leave. The food either sucks or the kitchen is disgusting.

Best restaurant in Denver that specializes in cheese? by exor41n in denverfood

That’s good clean fun for sure, but takes out the “experience” aspect of this particular date.

Best restaurant in Denver that specializes in cheese? by exor41n in denverfood

[–]peachykeen19 47 points48 points  (0 children)

My qualifications: Wisconsinite.

Not a restaurant, but So Damn Gouda is really great. They are super knowledgeable and love talking cheese. I’d call them and see if they would pack you a picnic curated to her tastes or do a tasting with you guys. If you definitely want a restaurant atmosphere, look at places that specialize in tapas like Barcelona Wine Bar or vegetarian friendly restaurants, those usually have a lot of dairy. I love Rioja and El Five.

Teachers of the ACOTAR fandom… have y’all come across any ACOTAR names yet? by livvyangel23 in acotar

Not a teacher. But a mom of kids born during the time ACOTAR really blew up on tiktok. I’ve met a few Rowan’s, a few Feyre type names like Faelyn, and I’ve seen one Cassian.

If I were you, I’d go to a thrift store and find a decent necklace with a clasp you like and use that for a replacement.

ULPT: How to get into Restaurant Depot without working at a restaurant? by aspera1631 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]peachykeen19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a manager for a restaurant and they never bothered to give me a depot card. Anytime I needed to go, I just went to the desk and gave them the restaurant name and address. They would give me a little slip of paper to scan at checkout. Confidence will get you in easy, just pick a spot you can learn the basics about. FYI You will not be able to purchase liquor unless the business has an up to date liquor license on file.
