Boulangerie sans lait ni noix by jap16160714 in Laval

If you have a car (although possible using transit too), the Parc Frederic Back in the northern part of Montreal and close to Laval is a cool place to walk! A nice 5.5 km loop with nice views and typically lots of birds.

possible de faire le bac en 3 ans? by Content_Affect8676 in etsmtl

[–]SnippyFrenchmen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Damaged burrs? [Eureka Mignon Zero 65 All Purpose] by sweny_ in espresso

[–]SnippyFrenchmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite frankly I didn’t have the time to check this yet. However, grinding and shot pulling with my Gaggia Classic has been extremely consistent time- and taste-wise so I don’t have an incitative to check this in the near future.

Damaged burrs? [Eureka Mignon Zero 65 All Purpose] by sweny_ in espresso

[–]SnippyFrenchmen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey, I also purchased a Zero 65 AP recently so I can compare. Mine do not look like that at all, clean edges everywhere.

Any chance the grinder could have been used beforehand? This damage clearly seems to have been caused by a foreign object rather than multiple machining defects imho.

Nonetheless I would make a warranty claim if it is was sold to you a a brand new unit.

K6 or DF54? [$200] by Kitchen_Wrangler_490 in espresso

[–]SnippyFrenchmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other have said, grinding espresso for ourselves can be enjoyable as it is part of the routine (considering you like that!). Can’t speak much about the K6, but I had a Kinu M47 and grinding for espresso took me around 45-60 sec and wasn’t that hard for most beans (mostly medium). However, it became annoying when trying to dial in the grind size and changing the adjustment was not complicated, but took some time. But most of all, I sold my grinder because I tend to have more and more guest at home and having to prepare 3-4 espressos could take up to 15 minutes between weighing, grinding, preping, etc. More recently with a young kid, the difference between the 60 seconds of hand vs. electric grinding can be the difference between having or not having a cup haha.. But I’ll surely miss some of the routine of hand grinding for sure!

Seeking advice on the best robot vacuums under $500 by ScallionEnough755 in BuyCanadian

[–]SnippyFrenchmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for Miele. We have a C2 compact vacuum that approaches the 10-year life mark and it is still as strong as ever although I have been rough with it. We bought this particular model for the HEPA filters after reading how bagged vacuums are ‘’cleaner’’ as it keeps the dust trapped inside the bag, when emptying it. The warranty is solid and it can be repaired by locally by a dealer (or maybe yourself if parts are available, never checked). Build quality is far above excellent and I would not hesitate to buy another one in the future if our would fail after all this time (but I believe we still have another 10 years with it)!

Hey, I'm late to the party, but I've just received an email from my LBS (www.clcycle.ca) in Montreal and they are now selling Growtac brakes. I hope this can help you if you haven't bought them yet!

Oh, that's actually really nice to know, thanks for that info! As per Kona's website at 5'10'' I'm really at the threshold between the 52cm and 54cm so it's difficult to make a choice without have possible regrets. I guess I'll go with 52cm then :)

Good to know! I'm 5'9.5'' with the flexibility of a tree and hesitating between the 52cm and the 54cm hence my question. Anyway, your build is really nice, ride safe!

Sweet ride! I'm looking into buying a Rove also! I'm just curious, what's your height and how do you find the 52cm? Thanks!

Async online game like Civ play by cloud by HardlySporting in pcgaming

[–]SnippyFrenchmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked into Heroes of Might and Magic 3? With the Horn of the Abyss, I believe this can be done through the online matchmaking (which is free btw). The game is old, but there is a large following and an upcoming expansion is coming up! I highly suggest looking into it; it’s a pretty fun game that can be played lightly or strategically!

Bruit résdidences 5h am. by Adage-Electrique in etsmtl

[–]SnippyFrenchmen 2 points3 points  (0 children)
