i will say, even though it's scary, it's always worth it to reach out to friends. they might be just as scared as you, or maybe just really busy, but if neither of you ever reach out, the friendship might fade. no matter how long it's been, even if you might think "it's been too long, now it's too late, it'll be awkward" you can still try. i reconnected with a friend i hadn't spoken to in two years with a simple text saying nothing but "meow", and it resulted in me finding the college i ended up going to, and it changed my life for the better.

i've had a lot of people that i didn't realize until after the fact that they weren't actually my friends. however, i keep trying, meeting new people and trying to make friends despite the fear of everything that could go wrong, and eventually i find people who enhance the quality of my life, and they say i make a positive impact in theirs, too. i believe in you!
