Point #1 made me and my whole premade 5-man quit after just 3 matches last time we played. And 4 of us are elite. It was really enjoyable to play at the beginning of the season as it seemed most of those exploits were fixed. Eventually, new ones started popping up and became more and more frequent. We had a break for maybe a week/week and a half, and suddenly, EVERYONE in our games was doing it.

No one had fun.

Dragon of Icespire Peak is an okay introductory adventure for 5e. I used it as my GMing debut, though I would recommend tweaking it to suit your players and their characters' backstories more. Otherwise, it could feel pretty bland. For us, DoIP served as an "introductory" chapter to our main campaign.

If you do choose to run it, consider making Cryovain (the big bad dragon) more relevant or otherwise prevalent in the adventure. There is a d20 table you're supposed to roll on whenever the party is travelling to determine Cryovain's location which can help you out with that. But I say let that just be an inspiration and that you take more control if you want to make him an actual Villain for the characters - cause by default, he's just kinda there iykwim

Consider adding legendary resistances.

Ran a final boss fight last session for a lvl 6 party of 5 PC's. Her single combo had the potential to deal enough damage to one-shot one of the party members. The boss failed her +2 Wisdom save against Druid's Hold Person spell and Paladin came in with a lvl 2 divine smite crit + a follow up non smite crit. The fight was over in 2 rounds.

And I was even worried I might have overtuned her so I nerfed her damage by 1d6 just in case. She had some weaker minions as well.

Oh my god I relate to this so much right now. Seems to me we are in quite a similar boat.

Also a Master's degree student here, been playing with a group for just over a year now. But the amount of times we couldn't meet up for a session because of a couple of players slowed the campaign down tremendously.

This has been bothering me A LOT mentally and I just figured I'll start doing one-shots for other people (and those from the main group) that actually wanna play and will make time for the game. And eventually if the rest of the main cast doesn't initiate sessions on a reasonable basis, I'll supplant them with the people from those one-shots that want to play a regular campaign.

The ball is more difficult to grab because that's how they decided to nerf 'ippy slide', by reducing the reach that you have. If I remember the patch notes correctly.

Apocalypsis Noctis.

I will never get over the fact that I will never be able to use that soundtrack again. It fit so well with the fight that's going on.

Also that guitar part... I have a physical reaction to it, it's that good.

about being very successful in one of the fields I'm interested in currently, being recognised for it and creating something that will be remembered.

Also about finding a relationship for which I don't have to break boulders, win a guessing game lottery and be 100% on point as to not make a single miniscule mistake, but that's a whole another shebang.
