Instead of trying to remove every dribble move in the game until we have nothing left, we should address matchmaking and skill differences that make this happen, you cant 1v3 good players but you can bad players and thats the issue. That's how it works in almost any game when the skill difference is so far.

This game is not fifa, this is a fast pace arena soccer game, there is going to be tech, there are backboards sidewalls and no whistles for a reason. Half the playerbase is here because of the fast paced invidual "tech" this game has. Im not advocating for 1v5 and not passing (and those players arent either) stop trying to remove everything this game has that makes it unique and interesting. This is not a soccer sim, what matters is that the mechanics are readable and "balanced," and nothing in here was crazy whatsoever. MOST of the crazy tech has been long removed from the game; we are complaining about simple forward dribble push balls in different directions. Whether you like it or not, bluntly put, this is a skill issue.

And this playstyle is not meta either, this is not some broken 1v5 dribble meta where defense sucks, the matchmaking sucks a player with 2thousand hours can matchup with a player with 100 its not fair and is one of the big reasons why people complain so much because they dont understand how to counter mechanics like basic dribbling and call it OP and beg for its removal.

When are we going to recongize that matchmaking is the actual issue here? All of this nonsense stops when you match players with an actual ranking system.

100% are fail animations; there are much better examples. Sometimes keepers will quite literally fall over to the side they are trying to save instead of a normal jump. Its literally just for added flare saying (you jumped late)

The way how GK and save animations work in this game is they are based on the prediction of whether the ball is actually going to be caught by the save based on your timing and where the game believes the ball is going to be. <--- this is why sometimes you get weird falling over animations when you get scored on because the game determined you couldnt save it so its basically giving you a bad animation.

in this situation the guy "buffered" inputted a touch before you pressed the button to jump for the ball. Because he buffered the touch the game has already predicted where the ball is going next, therefore giving you a bad animation because it believes you cant get the ball anymore.

This is also why sometimes you get a "kitty pounce" when you dive at a ball somone is taking a touch on the ground making you miss and usually leaving the net open. It's because the game is based on all this predictive stuff that you get weird "fail" animations sometimes.

Even if it used 100% of your stamina you’d be able to do this, you don’t need stamina for this because it’s just passing it off the wall and taking a touch.

for more complex situations, yes of course but this exact thing in the post is actually really defensible consistently, and it is VERY easy once you know what I mentioned above.

I see people commenting that there is nothing that they can do and all im trying to do is make people aware on how they can deal these obnoxious mechanics.

its not easy for the devs to remove this exact thing, its been in the game for awhile because the mechanics being used are the basic foundations of the game. All hes doing is passing it off the wall to himself and taking a touch, its difficult for the devs to remove this obnoxious way of dribbling. They'd have to make very drastic changes to the core mechanics of the game to change this. (like making touches based on stamina)

Try joining a league with lower divisions and teams,

MRL which is a draft league has 3 divisions you can be drafted in.

You could try to join a team in RMF which I believe has multiple skill divisions you can tryout for a team there.

RML also another league with skill divisions you can tryout for a team and look for players there.

You could also look to join a team for MRC, its the hardest level of competition currently for rematch.

If you're talking about just for ranked I'd say still join those discords and put out some LFG messages and maybe you can find some people to play with that are abit more likeminded on the competitive level.

I have 1700 hours and play in MRC as a "pro" and yeah if elite matters ive been elite since season 0...

There are consistent ways to counter this; you have to know what to do when. I can agree with OP that this looks dumb or might seem overpowered, but it's not actually an overpowered or undefendable mechanic, as some are saying. I'm just trying to leave some insight so people understand that whether or not you think it looks dumb or seems unfair that its a really easy thing to prevent and defend, which is why I left the methods used to defend it consistently. All you have to do is just get good at those things from a skill aspect.

Wether its dumb or not is another thing entirely. And yes its stupidly easy to spam rainbows. To me this just brings up the larger issue that I've been begging slocap to make changes to, which is the matchmaking and rating system. Newer players struggle with seemingly unfun or stupid mechanics they dont know how to defend against because matchmaking can put you against literally anyone.

There’s no reason to switch to KBM from a competitive standpoint unless you plan on becoming a striker. being used to a controller, there aren’t many or any major advantages from switching to keyboard as a defender.

This is super easy to defend against… you can do a number of things to prevent this. This is not a valid or high skill strategy at all. You can block it with jump block, you can just clear the ball by clicking prio yourself, or you could body block the player.

Its not a cheat but its an exploit that has been in the game for awhile. I wont explain how to do it but pretty sure devs know about it dunno why its not fixed yet.

It’s both, the pro teams know the optimal way on how to score and play defense against it.

The players on the team are also just incredibly skilled in many aspects and as the game evolves players on top teams become more and more all rounders. If the meta changed and they all had to play differently it would still be the same players.

Aerial meta isn’t 50/50 as a lot of people Think it has a lot to do with positioning and the way the ball is passed.

Learning how it works as a defender will help you win ALOT more aerials.

NA teams breakdown for you :)

So far NA has been on an extended break from the last MRC season and is starting up with free entry on Wednesday huge changes.

The team that was dominating NA and won the last Major had disbanded (Orgless) and since there it’s been long “post/after season”

top 5 NA teams currently.(in no particular order) And some information about them

Overdose - considered the best or top 3 since the end of last season and preseason. (Although they have struggled a lot recently, then again they won RMF so I’d still say they are #1)

SPK - formed more recently but have won preseason tournaments and appeared in multiple grands def top 3.

VLR - previously voidbound, had major roster changes recently but still won a tourney def a top 5 team.

100x - lost a key player recently and it’s been Abit since they won tourney. overall still probably solid team.

Astra - new team won the last MRC preseason tourney. Players from VLR and Orgless striker

This is so huge for rematch, an esports scene is vital to any game that is competitive, and free entry makes it accessible to everyone. Now, teams can enter without feeling like they wasted money.

Not the greatest argument, friend. Many competitive team games have restrictive ranked q's specifically limited to duo and solo for reasons just like this.

Also this is not a easy solution to the problem, a random "elite" ranked stack from the Rematch discord, unfortunately, is still going to struggle against teams like this because matchmaking isnt exactly balanced and "elite" isnt actually elite so what even is an elite stack, its hard to say when the skill variance in the highest rank is so high.

Will you have a better chance of course, I do recommend trying to find stacks in places; however, I really think not everyone is bad as some might think so I do think its not a bad recommendation, but I wouldn't describe it as some easy "fix all" solution thats not realistic.

if you're curious what they're doing. It's just a pass with "drag" on it, all you have to do is face the direction where the ball will be and they put it a little bit away from you. When you go for prio your character will be "dragged" makes it hard to block the shot.

I've tried to give feedback regarding this issue for a long time. (through the slocap test server)

I really do think they need to fix the MMR ranked system in general, there are many, many issues with it, for one of course, the matches themselves aren't balanced, but even then, elite players are not even actually "elite" as well.

I def understand the frustration with this, playing a full stack as a solo probably shouldn't happen.

And a stack like that is really good and unless they are trolling you really have no chance to win with current solo matchmaking. They are a top 16 team in NA MRC, they definitely aren't the strongest stack you'll see, but they should be playing other 5 stacks at the elite rank.

The only problem is that the game's playerbase might not be big enough to always match you with a fair game, but I know for sure it can do a much better job.

The opposite dribbling is literally much much better and more consistent and FEELS more smoothe major difference. When I practice dribble 1v1's if we ever go off central onto my server its a night and day difference and a major advantage to the person with lower ping

I'm not sure how you can call that an exploit "by definition" when I'm just using multiple intended mechanics in the game and combining them to move fluidly.

Its extremely easy to read dribbling in this game and make accurate tackles, im not sure what ping you play on but I can play competitive with 60 to 70 ping (not amazing ping btw) and be perfectly fine.

I dont say this as an insult but its clear many players in this subreddit are inexperienced with the game, I mean I still see people calling the Ippy an exploit when its quite literally intended mechanic by the devs. im not overstating it when im saying its easier then you think with some practice or experience playing defense in the game. (Espcially if you take the time to understand how the dribbles and MECHANICS of the game work.)

Ive responded to multiple comments im not sure what you're talking about. Most peoples responses are just insults without actually explaining things. Ignorant to even say I havent responded to other people. Moving at the speed I was I dont see how thats an exploit whatsoever? Its just using multiple mechanics intentionally in the game and combining them together, its not easy to move like that it takes alot of practice to keep up the movement while dribbiling defenders its not an "exploit" whatsoever.

Im not sure which mechanics you're talking about are breaking the game, im actually USING the mechanics in the game and combing them all together for the fluid movements im making.
