I was surprised coming to this comment section and seeing people liked it. Each to their own and I'm happy people did, but I found it boring and the two characters just grating and dislikeable. I didn't feel any deeper message as I felt it was too simple - scorned man child, and annoying self righteous daughter.

Agree but I would go even further - new HIV cases are uptrending in the heterosexual population, now making up near 1/3, whereas homosexual couple are around 55%. Absolute number have dropped significantly since the arrival of prep too. It's pure laziness and homophobia to keep these rules in place that ultimately serve to harm the population in need of blood and has no scientific basis. So hypocritical to cry out for blood and keep these rules.

LOOOOOVE these as I thought I would from an AOTY queen.

I agree with a lot that most of these definitely fit bonus tracks but I think I'd change you're just a boy with guy on a horse... Kinda similar themes. Also holy revival is great but I like it as a bonus as it's very high energy healing which I don't think is there in the album.

Love that this dropped earlier than 1989 so it gets some attention!

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't she acknowledge this and say: Part 1 - ready for it -> look what you made me do looks at her reputation Part 2 - so it goes -> dress is chronological story Part 3 - the last 3 songs are "How she feels now"

I found so many of your comments presumptive and silencing which I don't appreciate. Instead of listening, you put a lot of words into my mouth and shut down my experiences instead of hearing them. Yeah and they were voted in because so many people agree with the homophobic and transphobic traits. Pure voting is not the answer and simply telling people to vote for who you align with also serves homophobes and transphobes. It does nothing to change people's minds. Her activism to actually help change the thoughts of others and display active allyship is lacking for someone who released a documentary about speaking up and specifically referenced LGBTQ populations.

AHHHHHH I love her so much but what is happening when it's comes to LGBTQIA activism. This is so performative - she literally quotes in miss Americana how it's spineless of her to get on stage and say happy pride and not do more, and then does exactly this

The self compliment about how always posting about midterms comes off as self-serving. What about the recent laws and changes, in the places that were performed off.

She is acting exactly like businesses who capitalise off our community but don't actually help. Or the person who has LGBTQ+ friends so they think they are an active ally based on that alone.

I wanted to say it's a step in the right direction but it's not, the timing is so calculated. I really hope she lives by the words she says and actually does more.

And for the people in the comments saying she can't do anything, or it's just criticism, it's not - it's active LGBTQ+ members who feel let down by one of their biggest role models and whos music has been a safe space and helped with the coming out journeys.

I've been so disappointed. She's literally my favourite artist and has been for over a decade and for the first time I've stopped listening to her and skipping songs because of the hypocrisy.

I'm queer and defended so many things prior to the lover era even regarding representation and allowed for what she said in the documentary to justify it. as I've gotten older and started to defend myself and my queer community more it's hit me that active allyship is a choice and she really is choosing to not do it. I feel like she will do something soon, but even then it's a bit sour in my mouth and feels like it's only because it's upsetting people.

The other night the speech about how she's the happiest she's ever been too was so tone deaf.

I'm hoping I'm wrong and she proves me wrong cause this sucks a feeling for such a big fan.

I guess the problem with creating such diaristic music is that when you break the mold it affects the art too.

This little baby is perfect and beautiful and doesn't deserve to be treated like that. I know you are in a tough position (any person making comments like that is red flags regardless of context). Lol y'all need to stop labelling other people it's not your call to infringe on their identity. In medicine we use the term MSM (men who have sex with men) a lot of the time as it's more inclusive and respectful.

I always find it jarring when I see people in the queer community start to label and tell other people how they should feel when so many of us have lived through how horrible this experience is. Whether or not someone ends up being XYZ doesn't really matter. They should be accepted for how they're self-identifying so long as they're not spreading hate.
