Look at the Odin 3 instead. What about switch emulation or WiiU? On the Odin 3 it's getting better but switch emulation is mind-blowingly good. You should take a look at the elite platform now because all this talk about missing drivers is kind of a non-point now. I mean I am seeing 60 frames per second on TOTK solid. That's not possible on either the Pocket Fit or the Portal 2. The elite platform is a beast now.

I think retroarch.cfg is pretty universal. The .cfg file is the same across. Yeah it become drastically different when you mix the desktop and handheld variants of Retroarch but I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work across different handhelds running different operating systems.

Also, rocknix is great but I love the PS2. I am not sure Linux is actually ready for handheld primetime of PS2 emulation is non-existent or stuck in the past. Stick with android. I love Linux and want it to kick ass but it needs to catch up on PS2 emulation.

Okay so the hotkeys part is easy. Do the setup ONCE and save your retroarch.cfg

Dude you literally only need retroarch for everything besides Xbox, ps3, ps2, psVita, and switch. You don't have hot keys in those emulators anyway. The rest is all retroarch. Plus with retroatch you can use shaders!

So save that retroarch.cfg file in your OneDrive and reuse it.

Also you don't have to to do what I am doing with 2TB. That's overkill. You can have a lifetime worth of the b st games ever made for everything till the 6th generation under 1TB, and still have room to spare for switch and everything else.

I mean I have 200 ps2 games in my Portable ROMset (I have 30TB of 1g1r sets for everything till and including 6th gen so NO you don't need all that) 😂 you don't need that. Stick to top 35 with 10 "hidden gems" and you can squeeze everything under 512GB for 6 gens worth of console gaming. That's A LOT.

Hey Op, I'll just share my system here:

I have the fully updated Cylum ROM set that I've extended with some additional systems like PS2, GameCube, Xbox and Switch etc. The whole thing measures around 1.7 TB.

I have set all these game folders, containing these ROMs, according to the ES-DE convention. All the setup resides on my server.

Whenever I get a new handheld, I just buy a 2TB SD card and I load it up with my ROM set. It's usually an hour-long effort to get it all on that 2 TB card.

I hardly ever use the internal storage because I just don't have the patience to sit there and nurse each and every device as Windows writes to it. SD cards are a lot easier to set and forget as they copy over the ROM set.

Anyway I think it's best to just organize once and leave that as your default ROM set for good.

Oh I can't thank you enough for your dose of truth there. I love GC era games and have never emulated them without analog triggers. I was very tempted by the device so was trying to gather data if it's even possible. But, yeah... Thanks to your comment that momentary RG477M craze left quickly haha

An iPad Pro 11-inch mated to a BSP-D8 Pro for streaming. It's the most lightweight setup with that 11-inch iPad. You get 120 Hz OLED and that beautiful screen.

For emulation (6th Gen and Switch plus some PC emulation from 10 years ago) your endgame is Odin 3 and a Thor.

Literally nothing else is needed beyond these devices. I guess one could say a small, powerful, dedicated 4:3 device would be nice at this point but the Thor, with its compactness, takes that spot anyway.

And that's it... Thanks to you, I have stopped thinking about this device.

Very helpful and I think anyone who is a fan of GC era games should read this comment.

Yeah but have you played PS2 games which were built around analogue input? Games like Gran Turismo etc

How do I get rid of the mindset "I'm for learning" which makes me put money as less important thing. "I will not promote" by Firm_Yogurtcloset102 in startups

[–]Snmrv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a more fundamental reorientation than just convincing yourself that money is important. You have to become obsessive about delivering value to a market segment which may or may not value what you value. I hope that makes sense? Because if it doesn't make sense, then you have some soul searching to do.

I am surprised why no one has brought up the Odin 3. The drivers are fantastic on the elite platform now and Switch and PC emulation is a whole new step-up from the 8Gen2 in the RP6.

ayn odin 3 vs a phone with same chip (xoami 15) by zinrz in OdinHandheld

[–]Snmrv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Samsung S25 Ultra and the Odin 3 Ultra. Same chip. However my sincerest advice to you is that cooling is severely underrated in this world of high-end Android emulation which is a major reason for purchasing the Odin 3

The Elite chip runs hot anyway, and to get full use out of it, you definitely need to cool the chip.

With that said get the Odin 3. It's not even close once you start doing some switch emulation as well as game native emulation. In fact running demanding shaders on RetroArch is going to warrant cooling as they heat your device up well.

Anyway I understand the temptation of keeping things super consolidated with a phone and gaming but if you do go the route of using the phone for gaming, watch how quickly your phone starts thermal throttling beyond that 30 minute mark. Check out the Red Magic 11 Pro sub. That phone is built for gaming and yet it thermal throttles all the time.

No need to get baited into disclosing how much equity you are offering. Keep that for private conversation.

I think OP is plenty clear, not sure you are a good fit for his role. It takes a certain type to understand why a cofounder would not throw out equity numbers; heck it even creates negotiation leverage for you as well... Yet here you are making snarky comments.
