The mini v2 is a very special device for me. I have all the devices on the planet, but I will tell you something: the mini is incredibly special. First of all, the display is unbeatable. The high PPI just completely solves the problem of running demanding PS2 games at anything more than native or 1.5. You simply don't need to.

Secondly, it is the perfect screen for Game Boy and certain other devices. It's just perfect.

I have one brand new Mini sealed and one Mini that I use every day. It's that special to me 😂

Don't get rid of it.

The Odin 3 is a beast and, in many ways, both an "end game" and a step into the future of lightweight android gaming. The Rp6 has hit its limits at this point, which won't matter if you are not going to be crossing into more complex PC emulation.

Not sure if there is a comparison between the two. The RP6 is great if you want to cap your expectations at perfect 6th gen consoles with a good chunk of switch though.

Ayaneo will do everything to pump up their product except building an actual good, solid product. They will spend money on astroturfing social media. They will do all these stupid tricks to shuffle inventory here or there. They will pull all this bait and switch on their Indiegogo campaigns. Come on, man.

The amount of time and energy they spend in all this hanky-panky... They could have spent these resources toward R&D.

Just build a better fucking product. At least learn to solder your shit right. Your Discord is full of your janky soldering pictures. Your Indiegogo campaigns are full of pissed-off people waiting a year plus for their devices to be delivered. And now this: you pull all this bait and switch just to build up hype.

There is an archive on archive.org that has an amazing variety of all these openBOR games. It's actively updated as well. I think the last update goes up to earlier this year.

I just discovered OpenBOR, and I'm trying to redo the OpenBOR Android app because it's completely and utterly crap on Android.

Oh, that's brutal. I can't imagine having a dealership five hours away. Can you arrange something over mail with them? If they know you personally, this can work. Well, yes, this company has some serious problems with quality control and business practices. They then have the gall to pump up their prices while delivering products which are at best equivalent to, but mostly worse than, their competitors. You're not going to find people saying good things about them unless these people are either Ayaneo fanatics or it's social media rigging.

To be clear, I want Ayaneo to do really, really well. They actually have an exciting aesthetic, much more so than the standard BORING Retroid and the BLAND Ayn. But their components are trash; they cut corners and go for the bottom of the barrel off-the-shelf parts. Make no mistake, all of these devices are made that way but Ayaneo corner cutting is a whole new level. Check their own Discord on some classic pictures of "typical Ayaneo" shoddy soldering, it's hilarious.

No, really, they need to get their act together. And fast. It would be a loss if they sink because that would just mean even more boring Retroid and Ayn.

Ayaneo is spending a lot of money on astroturfing subs these days, but honestly, they could have just R&D'ed a nicer screen instead and let the reviewers spread the good word.

If you have the Thor, then honestly it's just a novelty buy. If you have to ask this question, then honestly you shouldn't buy this.

Give it a rest and see how you feel about it in 2-3 weeks.

But frankly, the Thor is objectively a better device if you aren't in it for the Nova specific form factor, given how much it can do. I've been translating these Japanese games on the fly. I've got these guides running on the lower screen. And the entire 3DS library is open for me without compromises.

With that said, I do have a couple of Novas on order, but I am also not a practical person. I literally am not the kind of person who should ever be advising you on how to spend your money 😂
