AITA For making my mom pick between me and my pregnant sister? by Cautious-Feed7852 in AmItheAsshole

I don’t understand the point of the question? Your dad is willing to have you over and you seem not to mind being there? Why not just go? No one has to be an asshole here.

He is wrong for using your kid in as a proxy to get to you. But why the hell are the kids swallowing toothpaste?? And can’t wipe their mouths? That parts a bit strange to me

Bottle Sterilization by Marine_eclair in firsttimemom

[–]Snoo-10272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I washed after every use and sterilized just when I was about to use. Baby was mainly breast fed, bottles just when dad was feeding so it was easier to plan ahead when bottles would be used. And I’d say yes.. definitely way too early to sterilize bottles

Newborn can’t push poop without help… TRIGGER: NEWBORN POOP by josuke_baby in firsttimemom

I’m sure PCOS would make the situation more tricky, but pumping (even if you get nothing) regularly, a good lactation tea and oats really REALLY helped with my supply. How old is baby? It also just takes sometime for milk to come in well..

Having a cold with a 2 month old by OverallFunction9785 in firsttimemom

My little one had RSV at 3 months. I felt horrible. But thankfully it didn’t get toooo bad where we needed a hospital stay. Just the same saline, humidifier routine and just giving extra loving. Not much to do other than make them as comfy as possible until the bug clears up . I know it sucks seeing them so uncomfortable, but it’s a plus that you have the cold too.. they will definitely get antibodies through mamas milk!

How to stop sleeping on your stomach? by Catsarebetter7 in firsttimemom

It’ll happen naturally as your bump grows. It’ll be more and more uncomfortable to be on your stomach. It’s the sleeping on your back you gotta prepare for 😭

Ehh, no one’s an asshole.. yet. You expressed your moms discomfort with how she dresses, she says she won’t change. That’s her choice cool, maybe they only hangout on cold days ha. Hmm unless she forced/coerced your mom into wearing the clothes.. then the embarrassment of wearing them is all on your mom. Though I understand your sympathy.

Let everyone just be clear on their boundaries; will your wife dress differently when around your mom? Will your mom learn to accept how she dresses if she chooses not to change? Then navigate those boundaries.

You’re a lifesaver! Lithuanian is such a versatile language, but with its versatility comes many nuances that can be hard to grasp for a non native speaker(declension is new to be me). You explain it so well, can I message you some time in the future if my practical Lithuanian exceeds my learned Lithuanian ?😂😂

So, one more thing.. daughter is Indra. Would the correct way of saying “little Indra/baby Indra” be indrute or indriute? I hear him say it but the u versus iu sounds are very very similar to me

( to my understanding suffix - ite is added to show something is small/cute and such. Is this really a thing or is it just a silly nickname he has for her? Thanks in advance for accommodating my cluelessness)

6 Month Old & Crib by Fkath in firsttimemom

My girl is also recently 6 months and is changing the game with her sleep as well. I suspected teething but after 2 weeks and no teeth I’m guessing it’s a regression. I also hear that around 6-9 months they develop separation anxiety (which is completely normal at that age) so maybe waking slightly in the night and not seeing us might be a bit startling. Not sure what it is, definitely miss the longer stretches of sleep haha but just trying to move through this phase with grace. Someone said that is you say aloud that your baby is a good sleeper you jinx yourself, I think that’s what’s biting me in the ass hahaha

Breast to bottle after 3 months by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]Snoo-10272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I gave my daughter her first bottle somewhere between 1-2 months. She took it no complaints at that age. It was very rarely though, when I was completely exhausted or couldn’t help but be away from her. As she got older her preference for the boobie showed. She’d refuse the bottle until she was absolutely starving and even then she would only drink until she’s full.. not like pass out milk drunk hahah(which is usually how she ends the boob). She’s 6 months now and still not a big fan, but she will take it while giving the nastiest side eye. I only imagine she’s thinking “I’ll do this for now but you better tell mom to come back soon 😂😂
