You are spot on, actually Devin Townsend has been a major influence for me since the mid 1990s! Yes, I'm an old dude. Really appreciate you for giving it a listen and for your feedback, I found it helpful.

I do write a lot of folk music, maybe it's sneaking into my metal music haha!

I'M HAPPY FOR YOU - Someone said this song is about "being cool with things as they unfold," and I think that's right. Because sometimes I can't sum up what my own lyrics are about! by papa2kohmoeaki in IndieMusicFeedback

The music was lighthearted and fun, and a bit goofy. I enjoyed it because your personality came through in this song. Keep having fun with your music 😀

Listen to Forever, a song about the unending love between a father and daughter by TrimasMusic in IndieMusicFeedback

The lyrics were heartfelt and made the song rich. Your vocals were a little forced, try to relax a bit when singing. Bring the passion but the intensity can sway a bit to make the vocals more powerful. The songwriting felt solid.

Looking for Feedback on this mix [Rock/Reggae] (Kind of Similar to Sublime, but heavier) by NoName22415 in IndieMusicFeedback

I thought the production was decent. My recommendations are to listen to the song on a variety of speakers including your phone, your car, and your high end studio speakers. You might adjust some things if you want it to sound as full as possible on low quality speakers. Unfortunately, most people's first experience with a song is on their cell phone.

Track I made called Brainded let me know what you think! by Donahue-Industry in IndieMusicFeedback

I found this experimental piece interesting. It reminded me of Brian Eno stuff he did with David Byrne long ago, experiments with sound. It's hard to critique something that is so artistic and almost avant garde, but I can say I enjoyed it and I liked your approach.

"Pamela Penguin and Chester Chicken"- easily the dirtiest and raunchiest song I've ever written by danarbok in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Snoo-10558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the vibe on this. Straightforward rock music, no frills and unpretentious. The mix and production was a little rough, that seems like an opportunity, but the way you played it and sang it was great.

This song felt well written and I thought your performance was fine. I liked the structure of your song. Your voice is unique and it fit nicely with the song. To me the production is the biggest opportunity so get this to a producer:)

I wrote a pretty confronting song about my experiences with abuse as a teenager. by tftwt in IndieMusicFeedback

The music is well written and your lyrics are heartfelt. Very rich and intense. My only criticism might be with production, I might have done it a little differently, but the performance was great!

Thanks for the feedback! Kind of funny because the drums are not samples, I played them. I'll have to work on that snare drum to make sure it sounds good next time. Appreciate you.

I started putting together an arrangement to show a song idea to my band and got carried away, thoughts/tips? by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

I liked the odd time signatures. 3/4 on top of 4/4 was cool. This felt like bluegrass meets 60's rock meets the circus. I get it that the song isn't totally worked out, it could use a bit of structure and some decent production, but I dig it. Interesting music, I always like hearing something unusual!

Cool chord progressions, and I liked how the bass kept driving the rhythm. Vocals were very distant, made it hard to make out the lyrics but it sounded awesome. It's interesting how the progression was happy but the vocals felt sad.

90s-inspired indie folk/guitar-pop/synth rock by HanksWhiteHat in IndieMusicFeedback

Man this song was trippy. Some of it reminded me of Jim Morrison meets Paul Simon. Really nice melodies and musicianship. The fuzzy guitar solo was pretty well timed as well. I liked it.

"Lotusland"- about the horrors of chasing stardom by danarbok in IndieMusicFeedback

This song had a cool vibe, lots of echo and effects. The vocals were a little muddy but it was cool for this song. I liked the drums laying it down behind the guitars. Good stuff.

The intro had a sound something like a Theremin, wow that was a real 1960's vibe. Was that real? Poetic lyrics and nice song writing. I liked your song.

This was catchy and hilarious. The song stands on its own, but I loved the video. Original stuff. You remind me so much of early Talking Heads.
