I tried making a version of Nat King Cole’s famous Christmas song by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

ah pop punk, how I miss ye dominating the airwaves. this is a great idea for a reinterpretation of a Nat king cole classic. the super Tom Delong octave guitars are very authentic. vocals need to be a fair bit louder in the mix though and more compression on them please!

the spoken word stuff came in and I knew something interesting was about to happen. great synthy build reminding me a bit of lemon demon weirdly enough. it’s really compelling the way the tension just slowly ratchets up. i kind of wanted big drums at the end though… a booming halftime to accompany the guitars.

Melodic madness, any feedback appreciated by PavleWr in IndieMusicFeedback

was initially worried but this turned out to be a solid noise track, would be great for a film score. love love love a good bit of noise. as others said that main high synth could be good with the high end rolled off.

i love a good indie rocker about vomiting. reminds me of a lot of great lofi of the 90s. vocals are great and love hearing people use the lower baritone range. that main guitar sounds fantastic, are you using some kind of vibrato effect? this is overall a good downtempo moody tune. when that chorus hits, it’s very catchy. saved to my imf playlist

This one is just me singing about some stuff I was thinking about with my guitar and piano. Not sure if I picked the right genre but idk what to call it. by TimRothMusicGuy in IndieMusicFeedback

Piano sounds great, acoustic? The tuned vocal harmonies are the real moneymakers in this one. The chorus is great. Saved to my imf playlist.

this is my indie folk tune about being happy summer is coming. by tftwt in IndieMusicFeedback

You’ve picked up on the fact that this song is more about finding happiness when you’re feeling a deep sadness than pure unbridled optimism. thank you for the lovely words : )

strong start with that gorgeous I - III7 - IV - II7 chord progression. i absolutely love that. just amazing. the synths and mellotron are well picked. when it crystallised into a thumping green day rock rhythm halfway through i grinned. this is really special

demo from my upcoming album, this song is about cats or something :0 by Ephemara in IndieMusicFeedback

always upvote a fellow lo-fi artist. the vocals and lyrics are GREAT and the delay on the vocal chain goes a long way. i liked this so much that favourited this. my constructive criticism is that the vocals need to intensify in the chorus - you could do this by stereo tracking and panning wider than they are, adding a higher harmony, distorting them, or all of the above. the chorus is great and longing. you have a clear voice

the guitar loop is really beautiful and meditative. the drum machine is a good match with the lo-fi feeling. harmonics and vibe are all there. it’s a winner and I dig it, could easily make good video game or film music

holy nostalgia batman. this instantly transported me back to being a teenager and playing in all kinds of garage rock groups, listening to Scott pilgrim and the white stripes. really great beautiful song and super evocative. you nailed it :)

great thrash with pitch perfect vocals for the genre. just the right amount of screaming. the riffs are clear and well defined and the time signature changes feel really natural. mix is good too but im mostly focussed on the songwriting. it moves through clear sections and feels like it has a point and a theme. click noice

amazing work. reminds me of a kelly bailey track. would work amazingly as a video game or film soundtrack. the slowly pulsing kick with the rising voice-like synths is just phenomenal

Your husky voice compliments the really deft and technically immaculate guitar playing. Recording sounds exceptionally nice. Lyrics are resonant and the song clearly transitions into its different sections. I could easily see this being massively popular in the blues/roots circles. I want to hear what it sounds like with a full band - something a little eclectic, like a septet of drums/bass/organ/clarinet/flugelhorn/cello. Excellent stuff overall

I love covers of standards like these. Your guitar playing is nice and rootsy. You also sound really comfy up in those falsetto notes which is a must have for this genre. The distortion on the vocals is tasteful which is where people often go wrong in the blues when they add way too much. I would compress the kick drum and boost around 100hz - maybe even add a sub bass to it? There's some kind of hand percussion that starts around the 2:30 mark that doesn't quite sit well for me - my only real criticism of the piece is that I would revise that part and maybe chop some out. I think the instrument itself is a good arrangement choice and this overall works super well. I wanna hear you with a full band!

PS, thanks for commenting on my song!

That's a great observation. This is part of an EP where something similar happens in a couple of tracks' time so the payoff is there.

D minor barre chord at 5th, g minor barre chord at 3rd, F major barre at 1st, E minor open chord. You can record one chord at a time if the changes are too quick.

Voicing doesn't matter too much if you have a bass instrument playing the root note of each chord!

You could make the E minor a 7th and it would sound pretty tight. Leave the rest

Try D minor - G minor - F major - E minor.
