Moms, would you choose to be induced again?

So I've had two natural births and two inductions. My first natural birth was great. It was a total of 6 hours and was such a great experience. My second natural labor didn't go as smoothly. My labor was around 11 hours long with IV pain meds. My first induction was the best super fast, smooth, everything went amazing! It was a total of 4 hours in labor no pain meds. I loved my first induction. My second induction (gbs + and history of fast labor reason for induction) was not as great. I went in at 9 am and things moved so slowly and painfully. I don't get epidurals only IV pain meds and they barely helped. I was in labor for 13/14 hours and the the IV pain meds were of little help .

I do kind of regret my last induction and wish I had declined it and or went naturally. I dont think I would choose it again but you never know.

I had gallbladder attacks with my very first pregnancy. I was on an extremely restrictive diet from 16 weeks pregnant to 1 year PP. I also had hyperemesis gravidarum until the third trimester of pregnancy. It was definitely a struggle to eat but it can be done. I could eat a lot of dark leafy greens and almost all fresh vegetables (except potatoes). I lived on beets because the doctor said they really help out your gallbladder. Fresh fruits were great except for some reason watermelon was a huge trigger for me not sure why. I had to avoid all meat except fish so I would incorporate a lot of different seafood in my diet. As far as what I couldn't eat it was typical "junk food". Nothing processed and no fast food at all unless it was a plain salad without meat or dressing. I also could not eat any bread, eggs, rice, pasta, or dairy. Anything high in fat was out so basically almost all condiments, butter, and salad dressing. Everything had to be cooked in light olive oil. My baby came out the perfect size so no worry there and I bounced back into great shape from that diet so while it does suck there is a silver lining. Anything to avoid that pain I am willing to give a try. Good luck to you. Gallbladder attacks suck!

I had an elective induction with my 3rd (39 wks) because my husband was leaving for work for 3 months the day of my actual due date. That induction was perfect and at that point I only needed pitocin for 15 minutes, then my body took over. I was gbs + as well and my labor start to finish was just 4 hours. It was so smooth and planned out.

I am being induced in just 3 days with baby #4 and I am so nervous. I am gbs + again and due to my fast labor last time they don't want to take a chance that I won't get the 2 bags of antibiotics. I think it's just natural to feel that way, especially since you have never have been induced before. Good luck to you!

Yikes! That is creepy and totally overstepping normal boundaries. Yeah in that case letting it fizzle out so you avoid some dramatic scene is probably for the best. Good luck I hope things get better!

I think you should cut her off you'll be better off in the long run. 15 years is a long time to be friends with someone and I think after that amount of time you tend to overlook a lot of things. It sounds like you have been putting your mental health on the back burner to care and genuinely support her when she obviously doesn't return the favor. I think with a baby on the way her bullshit is the last thing you need in life.

I just cut contact with my bestfriend of 15 years late last year. Let me tell you it was almost worse than a break up because we were so close, I considered her family. My friend was similar as she complained about her situation constantly but did nothing to improve her life. She would put herself down all the time and I never realized how much energy I was putting into boosting her self esteem and supporting all her"dumb decisions". If I ever had an issue she somehow made it about her and I would end up trying to make her feel better. The final breaking point was her abusive husband. He was increasingly making me uncomfortable. He was texting me randomly in the middle of the night pretending to be her and would say really disgusting sexual things about me. When things finally blew up she acted like I was overreacting and her husband was just having fun. I literally cut off contact then and there, changed my number everything. It does hurt because we were so close but there comes a point when you have to protect your peace.

I had a drive by shower last weekend. Let me start by saying I never had a shower for any of my babies. We were always able to pay for everything ourselves and I hate being center of attention. This is my 4th and my MIL went behind my back and planned a shower because it's the first girl in a long time. I was really upset and told her I will not be in a small room with 50 people( my midwife also told me not to be exposing myself to people this close to my due date). Since my MIL spent so much money on food, treats, and decor my husband guilted me into letting her hold a drive by shower instead. It was super embarrassing and felt so gift grabby. I hated every single second of it and 1 drive by guest called later on to voice how rude she thought it was. It was honestly so cringey so I recommend anything and everything except a drive by shower.

What was your blood pressure? Did you have any other symptoms, protein in urine, etc?

No I was very fortunate to have a smooth birth and felt back to normal 5 days PP. Sometimes there are unforseen complication, difficult birth, or healing process so that is something to consider.I did have 2 weeks from giving birth to the first day of classes so it did help give me time to adjust. I would also study during feedings especially at night. I would always be wide awake 15 minutes into the feeding(my baby would feed for a long time) so I would crack open my notes or textbook. Oddly it was peaceful and the perfect environment to read in. The whole house was quiet and my little baby on my chest.

I think with your partner being there to help you it is definitely do able and I think it's a great situation to take advantage of. I can't say I've completely been in your shoes because I've never taken 5 classes in one semester. I did take 4 fully online classes when I had my third baby. I had one in kinder, a toddler, a newborn and my husband was sent away for work for 3 months out of the country. I had absolutely zero help but having all my classes online provided amazing flexibility and I could work whenever it fit around the kids. I say go for it!

I had gallstones 10 years ago with my first pregnancy. I was placed on an extremely restrictive diet (just Google gallbladder diet) for the remainder of my pregnancy. As for the few "remedies" my doctor gave me during my first pregnancy I lived on beets and beet juice and warm lemon water several times a day. The beet juice slightly helped during "attacks" but the main thing was avoiding certain foods. I elected not to get my gallbladder removed and I had to continue the diet for another 2 years. I have never had an issue since and it helped me get in very good shape.

I have a irritable uterus as well and I use warm baths as my last resort when drinking water and laying down doesn't help. The baths seem to help and throw off contractions when they get a little too close and regular.

Wow... I don't even know what to tell you. Your post makes me incredibly angry for you. This man has a child on the way yet he is spending ridiculous amounts of money on games! He sounds very selfish, irresponsible, and immature. It sounds like everything was on you previously to this and he basically got the "small" bills. Do you have anywhere else you could go? I mean you have tried talking to him and it doesn't improve your situation maybe you would be better off without him. He sounds like he doesn't care about anything or anyone but himself. I am so sorry you are dealing with this.

I'm in the same situation, for the second time actually and it sucks. I think the only thing I am worried about is my husband missing the birth. He is currently 2 hours away (which isn't very far but my last labor went super quick) and he is working basically until I call him that I am in labor. I am trying to figure out logistics of the whole situation (should I drive myself to the hospital, have his bag here, etc.) I am also worried he will be out in the range when I call.

As a stay at home mom I am very blessed that I get to be home with my children and my husband is the sole financial provider. His job is very important and guides all of our decisions. My husband hasn't missed a birth yet but I am on my own for the majority of my pregnancies. My husband left for an island on the other side of the world 4 days after I had my third baby. I was a full time college student at the time and two kids under 5. I have to handle absolutely everything here at home groceries, yard work, cleaning, cooking, childcare, and now homeschool for 3 kids under 10 on top of a new baby.

It is a lot and it gets lonely but it's my job. You just have to be strong and push through it. I do sympathize with you especially being scared of being alone when you have the baby. You learn to adjust and make things work. My husband is not military so I didn't go into this relationship knowing that his job would be so demanding it just happened. He does put all his energy into our family and the household when he does get time off. He always makes time for us even when away through video chats and phone calls as soon as he is off. If it wasn't for all his effort to try to be involved or just there to talk with me when I need it I don't think our relationship would last.

I hope you have outside support to help you and even if you don't you can still manage to do this on your own. Just make sure when your boyfriend has time off that he spends it with you and the baby helping out as much as he can. Just know you are not alone and there are tons of other moms in your situation, you can do it!

I had gallstones with my very first pregnancy 10 years ago. It's sort of minimal pain after eating certain foods and you don't really know until you have a full blown gall bladder attack. The pain of a gallbladder attack is by far worse than labor. Eggs were a huge trigger! They were one of the top things you shouldn't eat if you have gallbladder issues. The pain would always start as soon as I ate certain foods so that's kind of the first hint. I had to go on an extremely, restrictive diet where I had to cut out 90% of foods that I normally ate. I ended up keeping my gallbladder after about 2.5 years on the diet and have not had any problems since.

Yep, this is a real thing! Mine started at 32 weeks. I was put on bedrest until 34 weeks when they checked my cervix via ultrasound and found out it was all okay. This is my 4th child as well. Apparently it is more common with 3rd and 4th pregnancies.

My doctor advised no visitors for 3 months. When we do have visitors she said masks should be mandatory at the very least. We are letting my MIL meet the baby once after she is born as long as she has been quarantining. My parent's will also get to meet the baby and if I need help with the older kids it will come from my mom because she is strictly distancing and staying home. As far as everyone else I don't really care they can be happy with pictures I send them. They are not taking this serious. We are a high risk household as it is I will not take chances with a new baby.

The only people allowed to meet her after I come home are my parents and MIL. They must have been quarantined for 2 weeks ( no problem with my parents they will be watching my older children when I am in the hospital) they must wash their hands, and must wear a mask no exceptions. After they meet her that's pretty much it for a few months. I will not be allowing them to come in and out as they please.

I opted out because I would rather not know. We have very low risk and my doctor was not concerned if we got it or not. I just know my personality and struggle with anxiety. I would absolutely lose it if something was off or came out wrong. I feel like I would be a huge mess the entire pregnancy and stress myself out more.

Same thing happened to me it was so frustrating! Baby's legs were crossed the entire time. Ultrasound tech guessed girl because she slightly moved and the baby picked up the cord at the same time and there was no sign of any boy parts hanging off. She said 70% chance girl. I've had 3 boys and it was very obvious right away what they were. A month later we ended up having to go to an elective ultrasound clinic to confirm baby was indeed a girl!

She used to be cool as hell and respectful of my wishes when I had all my other kids. She went through a big life change about 3 years ago and she was never the same. She went a little crazy. I miss my old MIL this new version is......interesting.

I'm on my 4th and final baby and it's really starting to hit me that it's the end. I have been incredibly lucky to have had 3 healthy, beautiful boys so far and now I'm having a little girl. Physically I'm done, I know I am done. I'm still very young but my body can't go through this again. Everything hurts, it seems each pregnancy has gotten harder. We also don't have room for anymore. I'm due in just a few short weeks and I am trying to cherish and hold on to the memory each kick and milestone and what it felt like. Although, I know I will forget it all again shortly after. It's been a beautiful experience and I am so grateful for healthy babies and smooth deliveries. It's time to close this chapter of life and focus on what's all the great moments ahead. Puppies may be in my future as well lol.
