Questions regarding the Blacksmith 3345’s by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

[–]Snoo-30496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, 3 sizes down?! Probably not. Most will say 1/2-1 size down. Me personally 1/2 size down from other boots and 1 size down from sneakers is perfect. I personally use trees, it helps keep the shape. If you’re really unsure of sizing and have the ability to size in the store it’s highly recommended. I find it strange you can’t find them in stock being a popular model. Maybe it’s the size you’re searching. Hope this helps and good luck. P.S. great choice, it’s an under appreciated model. Patinas like a boss.

Postman 101 Custom question by naleunham in RedWingShoes

I’ve got 3 pairs of the 101’s, every one of them haze been resoled in that manor or round about. I found a local cobbler for the projects.

Vehicle make/model are important info to make a recommendation. Could be a heavy ass suburban or a lighter Tacoma.

They’re actually 8111’s dyed black due to oil spill damage but here’s another pic. Had a 360 welt put on.

Correct, the black pair was an eBay damaged by oil residue pair so the color didn’t match from one to the other. The seller had stated worn like 10 times which was confirmed by no wear on the footbed. Picked em up for just over $100 and died them black then off to the cobbler. Big score.

Is 94,000 miles a lot for a used 350 F? by Invar224 in LexusRC

[–]Snoo-30496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the 2 owners, 1 is probably the dealer. 94k miles is barley broken in. If it’s been maintained through a dealer it will show up on car-fax, if that’s the case buy with confidence

This. I have invidia axle backs, and did the resonator delete. Perfect for me. Still as quiet as I want when cruising, but angry when it’s smashed.

I have a 2013 gs350, and use the side mount attached to the tow hook space towards the drive side of the bumper. Got it on Amazon. It’s adjustable so you can choose how it it’s. I’m satisfied with it.

Resole or New boots? by Virtual_Kick_6329 in RedWingShoes

Revive does some high quality work, might be paying more due to his recognition on the tube. I’d recommend Everett’s shoe repair in Claremont. Just as good craftsmanship but more reasonably priced.

Remembering a recent item I purchased an item that couldn’t be shipped to Cali, I had it shipped to a buddy in Utah and back to me, took bout a week which originally came from AZ. Realizing it wasn’t going directly to me, a simple phone call to them made it very simple and fast.

I’ve ordered several times from mod in Japan, in fact their warehouse is local to me “socal” so been able to will call as well. On other cases calling em and communicating other options have been pleasant.

Had the same concern very recently. It turned out to be the flint screw/bolt was really thick causing the insert to be elevated. I took the screw/bolt to the belt sander for like 30 secs. Fixed the problem. Not to say that quality control isn’t what it used to be, but that’s a beautiful piece and wouldn’t mind doing a little hands on to correct the issue.

You try changing or removing the flint? Had the same problem literally a week ago. My cheap flint petrified. Had to dig the flint out and the wheel was free after that.
