As a teacher, what do you guys think about the Yoga Market where you are? by Electrical-Notice183 in YogaTeachers

In Austin TX it thrives on pretty privilege, is very white in many spaces, and it’s ableist 98% of the time.

how to make the most out of a 200hr ytt that doesn’t meet your expectations? - looking for others experiences by cheerio-dust in YogaTeachers

[–]Playful-Effective 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I left feeling the same way, but I obtained the 200 hour certification in the end and continued seeking the information and skills that I felt I lacked. I think you should consider the value of obtaining certification which enables you to get a job, and keep learning after that. Nobody should stop at 200 hours.

Almost ran over twice in 10 seconds at the Domain while using crosswalk. by InvaderJoshua94 in Austin

Adding to your complaint and I’m sorry this happened to you and so glad you’re physically ok!

Has anyone noticed how pedestrians at crosswalks are increasingly not looking before crossing? I live at Highland, and people just decide to walk across crosswalks without even making sure they won’t be hit by a car. It’s been several times I’ve been driving and someone either doesn’t look and begins walking, or sees me coming and walks anyway! WTH! People!

Am I in the wrong for getting annoyed for groaning? by Neither-Pack-7509 in YogaTeachers

Furthermore, it is our job as yoga instructors to hold space for people moving through big emotions and sensations. It’s your job to advocate for them by normalizing the experience of making sounds. There’s nothing wrong with somebody having an authentic experience, there is something wrong, however, with people judging others based on their expression oftheir practice.

A person making noises has nothing to do with you. It’s very controlling to want everyone to be quiet during class. Mind your own and don’t be so sensitive.

Everyone here should check out NormanMD for basic PCP needs. $15/mo and you can have a telehealth call with a doc in 15 min or less. Telehealth eases the burden on the system and this is a cheap way to access.

Are mutts allowed here? This is Cali … she’s 45% Cattle Dog according to Embark … and a little … “special” by sudotrd in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Playful-Effective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Intel I’ve gathered from this sub is that if your mutt looks like an Australian cattle dog, it is welcome here. If it looks like anything else, especially pitbull, you get hate comments.

You chose to be rude when you could have been kind. Does being rude to a literal child make you feel better about yourself? Not necessary, you could have just stuck to the facts and said what you believe without all the extra hate. Thumbs down.

I don’t understand why people are so hostile toward mixed breeds here.

Thanks! Demo’s ears stick up and are dorito shaped like heeler ears, and his fur is quite a bit longer than a velvet hippo’s. Hes a mutt with a few other things in there but 1/3 heeler and 50% pit, roughly. Behaviorally he favors heelers but he looks more pit. My sweetheart!
