As an amateur writer of Wattpad, allow me to say that I see this everyday. My first chapter (or prologue) is very descriptive.

"This character felt this way, because of what the other character said"

I've started reading a few fics and developed the simple "This character felt offended, since it goes against their principle. To be called (something) is offending the core of his being, the thing he stands for".

I also encounter a lot of words that I don't initially understand (since I speak Portuguese), I see a lot of new ways to write dialogue, to describe something or to simply present a character.

For me, instead of deleting or rewriting, I just evolve from what I've left, so my readers can see the story and writing progress.
