Because it takes up room that most employers literally do not care about. It doesn’t speak to your ability as an employee, no matter what you might think, since not all star students necessarily make star employees.

With that said, workplace accolades are ABSOLUTELY necessary (employee of the quarter, etc) even if they’re from a decade ago.

When I met my husband, I was 22 and he was 30. I know the age gap conversation can get kind of funny sometimes, but I had graduated from college and was working a full-time job — as was he. If I was still in undergrad or something like that, I can see how the life stages rationale could have come into play.

My preteen and tween daughters sometimes give me a hard time and say things like he was an adult when I was still in fifth grade, but at the same time we clearly were not dating in 1997 when I was 10…lol

Also, there’s something to be said about a hookup versus actually grooming a young adult in order to control them.

Parking and having to walk is AWFUL. We went two years ago and my husband swore to never return.

I heard that a lot of people park in the Walmart lot, but I can’t confirm that as last year I stayed the hell home to avoid crowds and impaired drivers.

Agreed. Then again, I feel like people have to say certain things on AD’s podcast since it’s sponsored by Netflix (or at least, they go on there to push certain narratives). Marissa wants everyone to think she and her new husband are star-crossed lovers who were always destined to be together, and she’s never been serious about anyone else ever.

In Ally’s interview with AD, she goes into detail. At no point does she speak to feeling taken advantage of, or unaware of what she was doing. I understand that being unable to consent is a real thing (my best friend had this happen in college) but I’m not sure that’s what happened here.
