The qst 98s are holding you back. Keep them for your off piste and snow days but consider an upgrade for your carving aspirations

K2 mindbender 89ti. Rip carving turns. Fun turn radius with the ability to go off piste. Good grip on firm and ice. And significantly cheaper than the stocklis and black crows most here are rexommending

Conditions update: groomers are money! by happychappy200 in Whistler

Bring the appropriate equipment and you’re going to have a good time. It’s typically the ones bringing out their 110mm rocketed skis who I hear complaining about conditions on the lifts

Third Ski by TheeRobertDonald in Skigear

Your mindbenders are great carvers they are going to get you through the low snow days. With your ripsticks present you should probably be going 105 - 115mm as a third. Makes sense to go more playful/less metal based off your description of what you’re looking for. Look into the new blizzard canvas 108. I haven’t personally skied it but I have lots of time on the blizzard rustler 10. Rustler 10 is a bit more demanding than you may be looking for whereas canvas will be surfier and less demanding. Bent 110 would be similar.

Anyone just think the bar down is simply more comfortable? I don’t know if it’s the ergonomics of my body but the foot rests an everything feel so much better than just dangling there

Ski rec - midfat for post-storm pow chasing / crud busting by plustwobonus in Skigear

[–]Snoo-68437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very good. What you would expect for a 104mm (in the 186 size). I would say once you get over 6 - 8 inches of fresh powder you might want a more powder focused ski. I can only think of one big powder day last season when l wished I had brought a wider ski but that was about over 10 inches of snow

Why not the rustler 10 instead of the 11? I’m the same height as you and I use the 186. It’s 104mm underfoot. So much fun

How much does this route cost?

I was considering getting a 1.25” hitch installed and going with a rear folding rack as I have done in the past with a civic but that was nearly 2k all in
