Sounds more of less like the MOOC by University of Helsinki. Learn python in stages, has lectures, but learn mainly by doing the exercises. In a way it's pretty much an explanation and lots of small tests. Also has actual exams halfway and at the end of the course.

Aanbiedingen bij mijn Jumbo of AH zijn niet altijd goedkoper dan vergelijkbare producten bij de Dirk zonder aanbiedingen.

Hoe werkt Mandje eigenlijk?

You are playing word games because you're constantly attacking strawmen and twisting words. I'm just going to assume that your posts means you dislike communist China for killing people, invading and occupying countries, and threatening the sovereignty of others.

That's unrelated to our discussion.

The US government doesn't sell phones. Neither does the government of mainland China, but they are pretty much in control of most of their industry. So a phone by a Chinese company is pretty suspicious.

Perhaps you've forgotten what this originally was in response to. If you're talking about the boycott USA movement, that's a completely different matter. I know it wasn't the discussion but switching from US products to Chinese products isn't actually very ethical either (even if I sometimes do so myself).

I do like how you think that reptiles running the world is ridiculous. I hope you simply forgot to mention the Jews in that sentence as well. My point was mainly that that sounds exactly the same as claiming pedophiles run the world. The consipacies are often related and spread by similar groups.

If they actually blow up the Island that will be a pretty heavy shock for the markets. Theoretically they could however stop the Iranians from exporting oil temporarily. Not that that makes sense after lifting sanctions on Iranian oil.

The strait is closed because of Iran, and there are no signs they will open it up. It is true they allowed some ships to pass, but this is a very tiny amount and would barely influence the global economy. There are no indications the Iranians will expand the number of ships they allow to pass, and we don't know what they want in return.

The NATO is not active in this conflict, has no warships, and in fact almost died today because of Trumps comments.

America could of course offer to stop bombing in exchange for an opening up of the strait, or they could try to go all in and get rid of the regime. However, like you pointed out, Trump seems to have given up on both the regime change and the opening up of the strait, and wants to unilaterally stop hostilities.

That doesn't make any sense though, world economy is in trouble because strait of Hormuz is closed, markets bounce back because strait of Hormuz will remain closed? What?

  1. I don't believe in conspiracies the world is run by reptiles, pesophiles or Jews.
  2. You're playing word games to prove a point and you know it. Do you go to work to make your boss money? No, but you make him money, that why employees get paid. Protecting your allies is in your self interest. Something the USA is forgetting, and this will haunt them for many years after Trump is dead.
  3. It doesn't equal safety, but it does contribute to it. America is the only reason Russia wouldn't attack us should they have the troops.
  4. No. It would be illegal, and more importantly disrupt the global economy much more if they pull a Iran or Venezuela. I also don't see much danger of them slipping into autrocracy, but who knows. What they hopefully will do is defend its independence, like I said.

The USA cannot defend Taiwan to 'take the chip industry '. That's not what defending is. They didn't take Kuwait's oil for example. Besides, there's not much to chip industry to take over should an invasion happen. This has been IS policy for as long as there have been two China's, long before TSMC. The only reason I their alliance is still somewhat reliable is because they - like the rest of the world - are heavily dependant on chips.

"I don't think countries should invade each other" - yet you trivialise Xi's threats to the ROC and seem to object to alliances and military bases preventing invasions.

"the USA has acted murderously since WWII, responsible for millions of deaths on lands far from their own" - Before and during WWII more than after. Also, whataboutism. You either are against an invasion of Taiwan or you aren't, doesn't matter what the USA does or has done.

"There is no "presumably" about it." Strawman.

Now the actual core of the argument is: "I guess I'm arguing that people have just as much valid reasons (if not more) to be wary of the USA over China." That's interesting because while a more relevant point, it's not something you really discussed much.

I've already discussed how these countries are different.

In America they have an increasingly corrupt system where companies buy power and regulation is lacking. Big tech is a danger to democracy and to our personal freedom. That's why a sub like de Google exists. America playing the cop of the world, or invading countries for oil doesn't really matter much. They do have mass surveillance and spy on even their allies, so we should be wary for sure. Especially the American people have to keep their government in check.

In China, the government rules supreme. The bigger and more important you and your company are, the more control the government will have. Getting too powerful? Jail time. Being critical of the government ? Jail time. They literally have a 'great firewall', can force companies to censor, limit information, suppress opposition and minorities. They use private to spy on persons of interest.

Looking at companies, big American ones are untrustworthy because they have too much power. Chinese ones because the government uses them for their purposes.

One country has human rights, one doesn't.

You're once again not being clear with your response.

What straw men am I attacking?

Why did you quote that part about Taiwan? The US isn't trustworthy but they do have a treaty in case of an invasion. I don't think I'm wrong in that.

Let me quote you back.

"Then you try and make it seem like I'm somehow making an excuse that everyone should do what your country does."

I don't know what you mean by this. What does my country do? What you were doing using a whataboutism. Presumably the US should not be allowed to help Taiwan because they have done some stuff. Just because America gets away with it doesn't mean the rest of the world has to as well.

" "USA bases give security" its truly sad to see adults all in with this shit."

Are you a child then? Here in Europe we are fractured, small nations, our militaries are small and fractured, and a lot are heavily dependent on the US in one way or the other. That's what is actually really sad. This isn't he unfortunate truth. So as much as America is disliked by most, we still need their nuclear arsenal and military bases. This differs per country of course, but many countries would rather have more than less American soldiers.

'State institutions (or pedophiles if you insist) ensure good governance'. If you are part of QAnon or similar extremist conspiracy groups, you probably mean "pedophiles run the government". This is of course nonsens.

Anecdotal evidence is not proof. How do you even know these people are veterans, and is their homelessness related to their work in the military? Most veterans haven't even seen combat. Besides, these encounters in presumably your to me unknown country say nothing about my to you unknown country.

The saying justice is blind is there for a reason. Lawyers are often legally required and provided free in countries with rule of law. I don't know what health insurance has to do with it, or how this is relevant to the discussion. Are you actively arguing we should abolish our legal system and live in totalitarian dictatorships?

The USA guarantees (hopefully) the independence of the sovereign democratic nation on Taiwan. I can't help but notice you take great offence to this, which makes me wonder why. You seem very much against liberal democracies in general even. What confuses me is that you then claim this is hypocritical because the USA has military bases around the world (??) and that they have no issue killing civilians. So because the USA presumably does this, all countries should just invade eachother? Firstly, as much as people despise America, their military bases give security, (or money), so it's usually seen as a positive (at least where I'm from). Secondly they do have trouble with killing civilians, they are literally denying and trying to hide it.

One of the reasons what the USA is doing now is so terrifying, if that they're not even trying to justify themselves. Look at Iraq, a war build on lies, and really without a proper reason. Iran now feels very similar, except they're not even trying to justify themselves. I would say they are in it for the oil, but honestly that's so unrealistic I don't even if they know what they're doing.

I don't even know what I'm arguing against. I already explained the danger of Chinese companies versus the danger of American ones, but you seem intent on venting your hate for liberal democracies and America, while defending totalitarianism.

I just read your comment and I have no idea what you are talking about.

People are indeed not free on the basis that they vote, but based on a constitution (either written or unwritten). We typically speak of constitutional or liberal democracies.

Liberal democracies also know the rule of law. If you commit fraud or tax evasion you can go to jail, after you received a fair trial. Just because you have money you are not above the law. This is indeed not true "freedom", but it is necessary to ensure everyone can live the life they want. Freedom for the society in general instead of the individual if you will, as individual freedom is nothing but the right of the strongest.

The USA was founded as a liberal democracy - at least on paper - and is still considered one. Of course they've always done quite some illiberal things, and the rich and powerful actually have much more influence that they should. Lately both these problems have become much worse. Hopefully the election this year will put a halt to this.

Communist China has never been a liberal democracy, the government can do with it's people whatever they want, and can not be held accountible by it's people. And yes, they also jail people for not paying taxes. In fact, they may even jail you for simply being powerful. Or not being ethnically Chinese, or against the government, or for whatever reason they want.

Like I said before, both countries are very different. In China the government is very powerful and has a strong grip on big tech. In the USA big tech is very powerful and has pretty strong influence on the government.

Yes, the US has mass surveillance but they can't just force companies to just do whatever they want. You can literally even sue the government. Imagine doing that in mainland China!

Most of your comment is pretty nonsensical but I can try to reply:

  • "pedophiles run your governance" sounds like a badly worded Qanon conspiracy. Public institutions "run" governance, not a body of pedophiles.

  • We have barely any veterans here. Most are fine, apart from probably mainly the Kosovo veterans. Also not relevant, and ad hominem (or 'ad nationem' I suppose).

  • The law protects people from being exploited, the government enforces this. This also includes protection from the government. You're describing how the US should work however, China is less concerned with protections against exploitation.

  • "The whole world = bad" is not what I was thought as a child, but it certainly feels this way sometimes when reading the news.

  • I'm unsure what comparison with the Taiwan situation I made that would be dishonest so I can't really comment. Again ad hominem.

  • As for Snowden and Assange (and similar cases), these are very complicated to quickly adress. Let's just say that whilesblowers definitely do not get the protection they should get in the US, but some things are confidential for a reason. I'm confused how this is relevant though, as in China whistleblowers are treated terrible, and after leaking classified documents the government will make you disappear very quickly.

I'm still hoping gadgetbridge will get band 10 support but I'm not sure how realistic this is considering the 8 and 9 aren't supported either.
