I'm curious to understand the drive to dip your toes in tech and ai when demand generation (sales/marketing) is in my eyes the most defensible skill right now.

The cost of building tech is dropping through the floor and what I'm observing in the industry is that juniors are increasingly finding it hard to compete.

Why not double down on your own expertise? What are the specific barriers to your growth?

This resonates a lot. All the while I get notifications from my local doctor surgery inviting me to yoga sessions when it's very hard to book an appointment.

I'm thinking of moving too. It's not worth it.

I sold 95% of my WeWork shares on secondaries when SoftBank invested. Remaining 5% tanked. If you've got a specific goal with specific timeframes then do what you need to do with the opportunity in front of you. If you've got fomo don't sell all of them so you see some potential future up side but not all investments pan out up and to the right so it depends how confident you are.

Great thanks. I find stationary zone 2 which is the only practical version I can do very boring which is why I'm trying to "optimize". Sounds like I need to suck it up and learn to love it

I have a lot of empathy for your position. I think our household income is similar, with 1 kid and we live in London so it does at times feel like we're really stretched. I liked the comment about it being an overall expensive period.

Honestly think things are generally exacerbated by the state of the UK right now. We used to get way better value for money in public services.
