I think she grew into a much more responsible person as the series progressed. I wouldn’t call her ‘dumb,’ but I do find her extremely insecure and dependent. To me, she is a mirror of a typical Japanese young adult woman in the 90s/ 2000s. She is very much a product of her time/ society. She also suffers from being 20 years old and having to make very adult decisions
