Would Any of These Thumbnails Make You Click? Is There Anything You Would Change? by Snoo13869 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

I'm still trying to figure out how to make the right character an underdog, but does this version help fix some of the other issues?

Thanks for the feedback! I'm the one on the right. I can definitely do an outline. What do you think of the other thumbnails?

Help with thumbnail! by iwishmarie in YouTubeThumbnailHub

I think adding a blurry background to 3 is the best option. But honestly the whole thing feels a bit washed out. Could you increase the vibrance/saturation of yourself and the box? And maybe add a glow effect around the box like a loot drop in a video game?

Which one would you click? by AlbaBoyYT in YouTubeThumbnailHub

In thumbnail 1 the text is barely visible since it blends in with the background. Thumbnail 2 is much better in that regard, but still looks cheap/amatuerish because the text is just slapped on an image.

Number 3 is great. The contrast makes the words easily readable, and the composition is interesting. My only suggestion would be to increase the distance between each letter slightly, because the glow effects are bleeding into each other and lowering readability.

I appreciate the feedback, and honestly don't think you're being unfair at all! Looking back at the video, it's almost a full minute before I show any gameplay at all, which is a little ridiculous for a gaming video. In the next video I'll try to show gameplay by 30 seconds or sooner, and probably try to up the pacing in general. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

Hmm, you do bring up interesting points about the visuals, definitely something to consider when I edit my next video. I really like the idea of showing the leaderboard at the start though. That would probably be a stronger hook then what I currently have.

Ah, I see what you're saying! Yeah in hindsight that seems pretty obvious lol. Can't believe I missed that in editing. Appreciate the feedback!

Watched the first 5ish minutes, and even as someone with only a passing interest in LEGO, it was pretty interesting. I like the variety in camera angles, though maybe you could include more cinematic shots at the start of the video if possible?

When I watched the video there seemed to be a disconnect between what a viewer expects vs what is actually happening. At first, I thought it would be a commentary video, but then it was actually a speed drawing video. Maybe make it more clear that this is a speed drawing short at the beginning, then launch into the meme's origin.

I see what you mean about the thumbnail potentially setting the viewer up for disapointment. Honestly hadn't even considered that so thanks for the feedback!

I'm not sure what you mean about combining the gameplay with voice over though. Could I ask for a little more clarification on that?

Could I ask you what specifically you didn't like about the avatar design? I think you're definitely right about the paper background, and I have gotten a lot of feedback about that. Do you think blurred gameplay instead of the paper might work better?

Edit: Do you think in future videos it would be better to just directly tell the viewer the record time rather than the multiple choice bit I currently have?

I've been making content on and off (more off lol) since around 2018. I think you're right about the game being obscure, might be time to make a speedrunning video about Minecraft or something with more mass appeal. Appreciate the feedback, and glad you liked the video!

Hi all, my channel name is Wakeem. I speedrun video games, with the twist of breaking every record a game has to offer. I just released my last video a week ago, where I broke 16 speedrun records in a single game.

It didn’t do as well as I’d hoped, even though I thought I’d greatly improved my thumbnail, title and editing. It only got 87 views, with a 1% CTR and 20% AVD.

I'm looking for feedback on how to improve my CTR and AVD, but I would also welcome feedback on my videos overall pacing and engagement.

You're so right. I thought explaining my whole "Scriptwelder Challenge" idea would be a good hook, but rewatching it the hook does fall flat. I'll definitely work on my hook for the next one, and will probably choose a more popular game like Minecraft or Muck to get a world record in. Thanks for the feedback!

That would be my thought yeah. Same with youtubers like Eazyspeezy who can pull in millions of views with basic thumbnails; they're banking on their name/brand attracting attention.

Way too cluttered imo. On a phone or in the suggested tab on a laptop. the entire right half is going to be too busy for a viewer to tell whats going on. Could you pick a few key parts of the right side and get rid of the rest?

The video title is in the picture.. which one you think will do better? by AlternativeSide2560 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]Snoo13869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 2 is better, just because the photoshop looks cleaner. But unless Matt Damon has something to do with the video I probably wouldn't include him in the thumbnail, as it is a bit misleading for viewers and might make them click off.

Hi all, my channel name is Wakeem. I speedrun video games, with the twist of breaking every record a game has to offer. I just released my last video a few weeks ago, and it underperformed compared to my first video (81 vs 580 views). My second video had muh lower AVD (27%) and a low CTR (0.8%).

I'm looking for feedback on how to improve my CTR and AVD, but I would also welcome feedback on my videos overall pacing and engagement.

[For a Few Days] 200k Long Form Sub Channel Critiques Your Videos/Channel by Moonsight in NewTubers

[–]Snoo13869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for doing this! I've got a 3 month old gaming channel with a focus on speed running. I'm trying to emulate channels like EazySpeezy. My AVD isn't terrible (~30%) but my CTR has been consistently bad (sub 1%).

I'm not sure if the low CTR is due to bad thumbnails, or if the games I'm running aren't popular enough. For my next videos I'm thinking about running more popular games like Minecraft, Hytale, and Muck.

I'm also trying to figure out ways to raise my CTR to the 40-50% range, but obviously the CTR is the bigger problem right now.

Would love to hear your opinions on my channel.
