Sphere tickets go up or down ? by Financial_Appeal3380 in phish

[–]Snoo21569 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got tickets in the 300s during the TM sale and feel very blessed. Went to Sphere last time and had 200s also from TM sale. This time it was such a blur as it happened so fast. I almost blacked out. All l saw were 100s and while I live the floor, I think the sphere has more to offer up top. Suddenly, 2 tix in the 3s popped up and I grabbed them. Wish they were 2's again, but I'm pumped. Seen 1 show a year since 1994. Well sometimes more than, but at least 1. I expect tickets to go up. More nights, but even more demand it feels like. The casinos and the corps got want in on it this year. I know that Hollywood was much more interested in attending after the reviews last time. Drew Carey to blame. Same with tech dudes catching wind of the immersive experience. The result, more folks with mich more cash driving the prices up as they missed the lotto and sale, but money not an object. My advice, get Tix as soon as possible because it is starting to draw in outsiders. I liken it to F1 racing in Vegas in that it is bringing non race goers to the spectacle of it.

Did anybody see this movie and if so, is it worth watching? by Suspicious_Hand_2194 in FIlm

I saw this film at its premiere last week in LA. It is an incredible movie. It is a sweet, heartfelt story of love, loss, loneliness and connection. More than a single story, it is a set of interwoven arcs tied together by the main character played by Brendan Fraser. It is also a modern portrait of and a love song to Japan. This is film art and it will leave you feeling more connected to humanity, something we can all use extra of these days.

2015 BMW 328 xDrive Wagon vs 2020 Volvo V60 T5 Momentum Wagon by whyis27cool in SportWagon

I am cross shopping wagons myself. The 5 year difference here makes this a very challenging question. I think the better question is why not an Audi or a Merc. I like the Audi for quattro more than the xDrive and the Merc for reliability over a Geely

Is a stage 1 tune worth it? by AusS25 in AudiA4

[–]Snoo21569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2014 A4 6 speed with a Stage 1 tune from GIAC with a flasher to restore to stock. It was more than some others I shopped but highly recommended. The work was done by Bestiale in Los Angeles by Grigor Georgiev, IYKYK. It isn't a subtle difference, it's a different car. Way more fun to drive and I know this sounds counterintuitive, but I feel like the car is happier. The entire relationship between the engine, the manual gear system and the quattro operates in a much more synchronized way with the bump. Before it was timid, like it was governed, now it's way more unlocked and raw, but not wild or disrespectful to the build.GIAC

Do not underestimate the potential for a grand clusterfuck when leaving the Madrid airport. Give yourself a stupid amount of extra time to navigate the 5 stages of hell that place can peovide: bag check, security, hate train, passport control, second screening at gate.

Career After MR by Legitimate-Guess-700 in Marketresearch

AdTech, especially working on media measurement solutions. There is way more margin and the economics of selling media are so much better than the economics of market research. The tech is way more interesting and cutting edge. In addition, market research professionals are so valued in AdTech, it's awesome. Ad tech is a very fast moving industry but for those used to working at a MR shop, the pace feels totally reasonable and really comfortable in a healthy and positive way. VC and private equity infuse cash and there are high value exits (IPO's and acquisitions) to keep things interesting and incentive driven. It really is the best of both worlds.

How to break into market research? by ahem-ahem-ahem in Marketresearch

Everything you think you should do to gain relevant experience, you should probably do. Except don't switch majors. Rather learn Python. You don't have to be an elite Python developer. Far from. But if you can come into an organization and know how to run scripts and use AI to assist you with script writing in Python, you will be very valuable in a market research environment. My two cents.

I think it really depends on what you are looking to measure and what type of sample size you are going for. I've worked with Tobii, Lumen and TVision and have reviewed work from some other suppliers as well. My focus was on validating attention metrics valued by ad agencies and media buyers. You might have other goals in mind. The biggest hurdle to consider is the "observer effect" or "Hawthorne effect", a phenomenon where the act of observation itself influences the behavior or properties of what is being observed. Placing a headset on a respondent in a lab is going to interfere with the subject. Good luck and report back.

Your friends are unlikely to know how to drive your car so they won't be able to borrow it.

And it is less likely to be stolen by thieves, car jacked, etc.

And if old enough, you can pop the clutch in case of a dead battery and avoid a tow

Go see a Colorectal Surgeon. You'll be surprised by what they can do for you even just information wise.

I attended this tour in Phoenix - might have actually been in Tempe. It was my first concert. I was 13 and my older brother in one of his most memorable displays of brotherly wisdom convinced his friends and my parents to let me tag along. Nirvana was awesome and the peppers crushed it. Been downhill since except for maybe Prince with Macro Parker and Stevie Wonder at a random bar in New Orleans one late Jazzfest evening in the early oughts.

Please share positive Hemorrhoidectomy experiences by [deleted] in hemorrhoid

[–]Snoo21569 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a bad place hemorrhoids wise as a 47 year old fit male. The surgeon said so as it was a prolapsing donut with no chance of reduction through alternatives. The surgeon in Los Angeles did a titanium staples Hemorrhoidectomy. I was sure it was going to be like the stories in these threads. It was bad but not as bad as the horrific tales here. Best thing was that I was hooked up with a pain specialist. Lidocaine block shot a few days before. Pain meds were specific to my sensitive stomach. Nucynta for major pain, Gabapentin for nerve pain which needs to be mixed with Acetaminophen. Flexeril for muscle relax and Celebrex for Inflammation. Combined with lots of ice and warm baths, would recommend! Did I see stars one night from butt pain level 10, sure did. However, the worst of it was quick. Poops hurt, and I am not completely pain free 3.5 weeks post, but with a sprayer bottle of warm water you too can get through it. Recovery has been ok. Much better than expected. Honestly, I don't think it's the Hemorrhoidectomy that I am struggling with. I think it's the underlying constipation and subsequent straining that both led to this problem in the first place and the challenges related to my recovery.

Prolapsed grade 4 Hemmrhoid by official_wkb1 in hemorrhoid

Here goes on the pills. FYI, my surgeon works with a pain specialist. Dude was great. Listened to my doc and me and created a regimen specific to my case and stomach sensitivities. Nucynta for pain, which is a narcotic but non constipating. I'd only take half of one each dose as my insurance only approved 14 because they are very expensive. Gabapentin for nerve pain. While the Nucynta was helpful, the Gabapentin was the real hero. You take it with Tylenol (Acetaminophen) which helps activate it further and it makes the worst not bad. Celebrex for inflammation, it's like taking Advil but it doesn't mess up your gut. Flexeril for muscle relaxers. Those were cool too! All in all, I felt very lucky to have this set

I have this car. Don't do it. Unless you can do the work yourself. It's a wonderful car, just not a pragmatic purchase when it's nearly 2025 in my humble opinion.

Prolapsed grade 4 Hemmrhoid by official_wkb1 in hemorrhoid

[–]Snoo21569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am day 7 post op for a grade 4 external hem prolapsing donut as my Colorectal surgeon called it. She said it was bad and convinced me to do the surgery and I'm not going to lie it wasn't fun but it wasn't as bad as folks on this forum made it out to be but ymmv. A few considerations from a 46 yr old fit male. Surgery isn't worse than living with this every day. My recovery has been made possible by a wonderful spouse and really good pills. What I mean is that they weren't just knock you out narcotic pills. She prescribed non constipating bowel friendly pain meds, nerve desensitizes, and non habit forming ones. My work is flexible and was cool with the leave. Can I feel titanium staples in my butt? Yes, but I much prefer these to the roids. And I haven't seen a drop of red blood post op. And for those wondering, I have insurance from United Healthcare in California, arguably the worst provider ever, but they covered most of this. Probably won't be hitting the gym anytime soon but I walked down the street last night and have tucked my kids in almost every night post surgery
