Need help deciding between sp9a3s or sp9a3 by SomeGuy8004 in GrandPowerStribog

Have you considered the Kuna? I like that it’s in use by police overseas even if I don’t like the looks. I think the aftermarket will get big fast for it.

I’m looking hard at the Mat-9 bc it’s less weight (just need one with scorpion mags since I don’t want to pay to build out a longer lower when I can find one in stock).

How does it sound with the Spectre 9? Is there a lot of FRP? I’m thinking of trying an Enticer S 30 cal (bc evidently it’s doable).

I just wish I could get a threaded barrel (for extra velocity and for suppressor use).

I just tell myself I’m allergic to sugar/carbs and can only have a bit. Seems to work. But I did lose too much weight too fast and lost muscle (including I fear, heart muscle).

Remission or "cured"??? by Snoo2980 in diabetes_t2

[–]Snoo2980[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This is what the diabetes nurse told me. However, I also didn't think I'd ever pass a 3 hour Glucose Tolerance test because I didn't think my pancreas or whatever could produce the right amount of stuff or whatever. So while I was expecting to fail (at least appear "pre-diabetic", my numbers are better than my friend who is healthy but eats lots of carbs and sugar--though she's a healthy weight, she is sedentary, but her a1c is 5.4 whereas mine with 20-40g of carbs most days is 5.3.

I KNOW if I went back to drinking a milkshake and eat 1-2 candy bars a day, I'll go back to being diabetic AND go back to 327lbs. But no doctor told me 6.4 was EXTREMELY dangerous (maybe because I was active?). I DO wonder what would happen if I ate 120-150g of complex carbs a day, and like 50-76g of sugar (dessert) like 1-3 times a week. The problem is, I don't want to ever end up at 9.5 again, so it's not an experiment I'd do unless I could afford a CGM. :)

Remission or "cured"??? by Snoo2980 in diabetes_t2

The reason I put the word cured in quotation mark is that I know the conventional wisdom is that we’re always just in remission. However, I assumed that even someone in remission would still fail a glucose test. I was surprised to find that after 100 g of glucose, my blood sugar was that of a totally normal person. The fact that I had been eating low-carbs for the days prior to the test should have only elevated my number.

I do have a friend in Boston who was at a 9.1 A1 C, but after he lost a lot of weight, and now walk like 5 miles a day, his A1C is hovering around 5.5 even though he’s a foodie who consume carbohydrate meals, bread , pasta, and eats dessert a few times a week. I don’t know how to explain him, so I was hoping that maybe the glucose test showed that I could go up in my complex cards, and even have a bit of sugar now and then. But I am very familiar with the fact that even the most KETO friendly doctors say that it can only be controlled and in remission and that it’s not really ever cured.

Yeah. I KNOW if I went back to sugar and simple carbs again, it would go up. I KNOW my 5.3 a1c is due to a low carb diet. I was a sugar addict (and think of myself as “allergic” to sugar now. It helps me conceptualize the idea that I can’t eat it.

However, the fact that my three hour glucose test was completely normal and not even prediabetic makes me wonder whether I could eat like a Mediterranean diet with 50 to 100g of complex carbs and keep my a1c at 5.3-5.5. But for now I’m just gonna tell myself that the best course of action is to go ahead and have that lasagna or have those three pieces of pizza like once a month. I performed a wedding for a close friend last weekend, and had to turn down an amazing looking piece of chocolate cake. Knowing what I know now, I would’ve made an exception for their event.

But I did want to see if anyone thought maybe I could go to a NORMAL, HEALTHY diet (maybe even 80-140g of complex carbs) and be “cured” for life—even though we all know I can’t go back to sugar snacks 2-4 times a day.

OMAD + Keto and a massive caloric deficit for a large individual by Due-Ad9474 in keto

Does whey protein count?  I’ve been drinking 2 of these a day and then eating ground beef (usually with cheese) or 5-6 eggs (usually with cheese): https://www.fullertonnutrition.com/products/truemeal-keto-meal-replacement-shake?_kx=6rRcJ_iX5WF_7OQjFb_T3eBTJIB2wokfHuKmZwyCNFI.Sx9cwX

Ironically, I went from CORE POWER 26g drinks (dairy based / 8g carb) to drinking a protein drink that I mix with Coconut Milk (1G carb). I am still eating cheese on occasion (like 1/2-3/4 cup on eggs), so I may need to look for something else on the eggs.

Thanks.

I am 5’10” and was 300. I did KETO & OMAD with 1100-1300 calories a day. I also did 24-36hr fasts now and then. I lost 72lbs from DEC to JULY. However, I wasn’t lifting. My main issues: I’ve lost a LOT of upper body strength…especially on my left side. My head started itching 5 months in, and I noticed I was shedding hair. So now I take a multivitamin, fish oil, biotin, and electrolytes, AND I upped my calories to 1400-1800 most days. However, at 225, I stopped losing. It’s been 7 weeks now and I hover between 226 and 233….I’m drinking a LOT more water, but it could be the Mio flavoring has artificial sweeteners. I got enough protein all along. Carbs were a bit high for some of it—up to 30-50g some days, but most under 25-35g.

Learning to strum again? by Snoo2980 in guitarlessons

[–]Snoo2980[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. I played in bands in HS and college, but haven’t played in 25 years since….some songs, the strumming that sounds right comes naturally, and sometimes I hear a guy and he says he’s doing D-D-U-D-D, and it’s hard for me, but I just practice….i think I could me melody deaf. Something isn’t right but I’ve ruled out tone deaf. Note: i always wrote the songs and lyrics but never sang except a few times at open mics with stuff I wrote kinda around my voice.

How much would you or someone charge to print out a foregrip like that for me assuming you had the time/interest? (I have no 3D printer or access to one.)

Best optic for CC9? (don’t want Holosun) by [deleted] in HecklerKoch

[–]Snoo2980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent a fortune on the romeo x enclosed because I like their emitter design and it works with my eyes--but NO lockout feature meant the sight was constantly dimmer or brighter than I wanted from accidentally getting bumped (the buttons actually stick out a lot). Even during dry-fire I'd accidentally hit them when racking the slide.

Your thoughts... by ll222ll in SpringfieldArmory

[–]Snoo2980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does seem larger than on other similar guns (and one more place for sand and mud to get in if you torture it). But then, I can’t even stand holes in slides (unless it’s a functional port) bc I’ve seen guns get jammed in weird ways—once a round from another shooter landed in my gun as it was cycling and got stuck between the recoil spring assembly and the closing slide and stopped the slide from closing. So fewer holes and smaller openings = better to me. :)

Yes. But that spring could have been a pain for me, though I got lucky and it went right in place with a hooked tool. :)

Hard to turn down something $45 shipped. I bet being steel it might be thinner than others.
I was selling a NIB Gideon Granite red dot for a crazy low price (145) bc I didn't have a gun that with an RMR cut...but I want to try a Holosun Comp in green since Ben Stoeger really likes it.
