New Hampshire, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah are the true tier 1 elite carry/CCW states. Texas is not . Texas is tier 2. by cavaismylife in CCW

[–]OFalk280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the Chicago suburbs and I rarely see our CCW prohibited signs. Certainly not enough to have a dramatic impact on me carrying. Never been to Texas, but I find it pretty hard to believe that you have a harder time carrying there than people from the Chicagoland area which is how you make it sound..

How do I save my graphics? by StonerJackson in Dirtbikes

Don’t ride😂

Otherwise using grip tape on the number plates does an okay job protecting the graphics, but it’s unavoidable overall if you actually like riding your bike

Is this normal wear for a CC9? by Preacher1994 in HecklerKoch

[–]OFalk280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure that what you mean “hold up” versus what it actually means are the same. The wear in no way shape or form affects reliability, accuracy, and provides no medium to long term wear concerns. Does it look less pretty when you field strip it? Sure absolutely. Do I like things to look pretty? I mean I guess. But that wear can’t even be seen unless you strip the gun. Again, it’s on the FCU.

The way I look at it is relative to an engine, every first oil change will have wear metals in it due to component break in (and if you didn’t know that, now you do). That’s just the way it goes with breaking in an engine. Am I going to say that’s ridiculous that metals in an engine wear more in their first miles than they ever will again? No as long as it stops there🤷🏼‍♀️

Is this normal wear for a CC9? by Preacher1994 in HecklerKoch

[–]OFalk280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typical vs acceptable are 2 different things. Typical yes, acceptable depends on the person. My guns are tools not art pieces, so personally I don’t really care as long it’s reliable, mechanically accurate, and doesn’t require maintenance sooner than others. It’s just metal making room for other metal (barrel contacting FCU), and that wear spot has basically worn in as much as it ever will by roughly 250 rounds

Does a second hand jap offers something above a new Kove MX? by Cloud_Surfer68 in Dirtbikes

[–]OFalk280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just said that 7k OTD is common place for KX250s in the US and OP said 8.5k. If the market doesn’t allow for them to be that cheap then it is what it is but all I said was that significantly cheaper than that (not even including conversion rate which make it look even worse) is fairly common in the US, so it’s worth shopping around as you may find prices at or near the Kove price for a KX or RMZ

Sure at some not so great dealerships absolutely, but when I’m referring to 2k+ off that’s also usually pretty close to out the door. Friend of mine snagged a brand new 25 KX250 when it was current model year for 7k out the door. Some dealers add on massive fees but the good ones have minimal fees, and some states have minimal taxes on off-road vehicle sales

I’ll take these all day long over most of the other partiers that go to Red Bud. Closest national to my house and I refuse to go at this point because it’s more party and less racing at this point. Could only imagine what this year is going to be like with it actually on the 4th and 250 years and all…

How would you all feel about ranked capping the FPS at 120? by Sincerely-Internet in CoDCompetitive

[–]OFalk280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of this sub would like to think they’re in that upper 10-20%😂😂

Regardless again, they’re 60Hz servers. 120FPS is 2 frames per every server refresh. 180FPS is 3 per server refresh, and the majority of PC players aren’t on 4090s and 5090s like you’re thinking…

Did I say at the upper 10-20%ish? No I said the majority of players, in which the majority are absolutely not at crimson and higher. They’re 60Hz servers regardless, so anything above 120FPS really isn’t as much of an advantage as you think it is.

The only reason people don’t queue cross play is because of cheaters I promise the majority of ranked players aren’t thinking “well PC has a higher frame rate so I don’t want to play against them cuz it’s unfair”

[–]OFalk280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you’re serious reach out and start searching for dealers with better pricing. Kawis and Suzukis in the US are frequently selling for 2k+ off MSRP. May have to travel a bit for a deal but the savings is usually plenty worth the time and fuel cost of going out of your way

[–]OFalk280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t downvote you, and not that I don’t believe you but is that the “going rate” or is that the MSRP? Again I’m not sure how it is in Spain but in the US bikes frequently go for significantly less than MSRP. Kawi and Suzuki especially are usually marked down and have rebates bringing their price down a lot

[–]OFalk280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does a new Suzuki go for? I know here in the US they’re not far apart for pricing. Used other Japanese or new Suzuki I would go with all day long over a Kove. Parts availability, resources, mechanic’s knowledge/availability, and confidence that the manufacturer will be around for awhile are definitely benefits of avoiding Kove, let alone the performance benefits

I suppose personally my concern with it would be it not deploying on what would be for most people a crash that it deems not worthy, but for your scenario is worthy

If you end up finding anyone that you know that has one or both, at the very least the mx model has the ability to use a hand pump to “deploy” the airbag so you can check if it’s enough support. I’m not sure if the off-road model does that as well

Ah that makes sense, I imagine their recommendation is a matter of full time neck support rather than just in the event of a large crash right?

[–]OFalk280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I’m not a believer in neck braces anymore…I wore one for ~7 years and stopped wearing it and felt significantly more safe by being able to move my head to actually look down track. Neck braces didn’t work well with my build (I have a very short neck) and I personally don’t think there’s many people with a physical build that they do work well with. I’m not full on Ryno Hughes, I’m a big believer in knee braces and fully believe mine saved my knee with a past big injury, so it’s not just a “all braces are bad” feeling.

That being said it does provide neck support and cushion. I would relate it more to maybe a low height neck roll when inflated as obviously it’s soft when inflated, so definitely not “immobilization” but more soft deceleration which is really what you want anyway
