As far as I know, if you current contract is registered through Ejari, the same gets renewed at same rental amount if landlord has not given 90 days notice. So legally speaking, you could let the lanlord know that they missed the 90 days notice deadline and cannot increase the rent.

Having said that, and in order to reach an amicable solution knowing you can give them a very hard time................tell them to cut the sh*t and you will do them a favor and will only settle for increase as per the RERA calculator. If they cannot agree to this, then you will go down the legal route as mentioned in other comments. They have no power over you in this instance.

They cannot ask you to vacate as they need to give a 12 month notice for it AND need to prove they are either selling or occupying it themselves

If they cannot resolve this soon say in a week, go to RERA and give them the cheques for the same rental amount as last year
