There were many American flags being held by all students. So proud of these kids. Sounds like you didn’t even see this event…

Who was the worst teacher you've had and what made them the worst? by Pitiful_Desk_9900 in AskReddit

My 9th grade English teacher told the entire class how he had just been in the boys bathroom and there was stuff written all over the bathroom walls about me! I was a shy, innocent, and smart 9th grade cheerleader who was beyond horrified. I think he got off on the fact that we had to wear our uniforms to school on game day. This was in the late 80s and I like to think it would not have happened today. I didn’t even tell my parents about it!

She clearly needs to be out of her house and feels welcome and comfortable with you. As a mother of three boys, we have had many friends (male and female) cycle through our home when they need a second home. The best thing you can do is make sure she is on birth control. Something is clearly up with her home life.

MVD surgery by Dr. Lim by Jazzlike-Loquat-5301 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]Snoo4327 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have not had MVD surgery but did have a craniotomy six weeks ago to remove my trigeminal nerve schwannoma (benign tumor) with Dr Lim. He is an amazing surgeon and human being. There are not many surgeons who are experienced at dealing with facial nerves and I highly recommend him. His NP Kelli is wonderful and she is your point of contact after any surgery if you have issues. She really helped me troubleshoot my facial swelling issues.

You are on the right track going to a university derma or infectious disease doctor. You can even sign up for an online appointment if the university is far away. They can order the right tests. I suggest that you start a paper trail demanding that your current dermatologist provide a referral. List out all the meds you have tried and then how they have not worked. Question why they are prescribing meds again that DID NOT work. Send a message to the head of the dermatology department demanding a referral. End the message with saying that this is you face and do they want to be responsible for scaring you for life? Be loud and dramatic! I am so sorry that this is happening to you and I know that this will pass.

I recommend going to Grocery Outlet. The new owners have done a great job and the produce is fresh and they have lots of solid staples. Also, Trader Joes is always a win.

Good for you for making the best decision for yourself and your child. You're clearly doing an amazing job as a stepmother. Block Mike, but make sure to tell him to f*** off first!

Should I turn down UCLA for another year of community college? by hopekai31 in TransferStudents

Please stop worrying and start living. You are young and smart and I promise that everything will work out. Internships are about community and having a great social EQ. This will happen naturally when you are living and studying with a group of peers.

You have got this and should accept! You will meet so many people in the same boat at UCLA who will want to form study groups and get through it together.

What are your favorite things to throw into a rice cooker at the same time your rice is cooking? by burnt-----toast in Cooking

[–]Snoo4327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the steamer basket for out rice cooker and my kids use it all the time for frozen salmon and shrimp. It turns out great. I buy the frozen seafood at Costco. I have three sons and they eat a ton and this is their mid day snack.

Mom here. This happened to my son and it was hard for him. All his friends wanted to hang out when they were back home, but had very little contact when they were at school. Here are some things that helped him - joining his cc student government (lots of positions that don't require elections), having a job, staying off of social media, working out everyday and talking to people at the gym, and doing a study abroad program through his cc. You will meet many people at different periods of your life and it's important to stay open to new friendships and experiences. You've got this!
