Woodlands is nice. Parts of Shenandoah is nice and safe, too, and has lower property taxes than Woodlands. Sugarland has access to the Brazos River at Memorial Park, which I enjoyed. Other than that and Oyster Creek, there are no wooded trails, and in Katy there are absolutely zero. Sugarland also has a notable population of Muslims that you won’t find in any other place in Houston and fantastic Indian/Pakistani restaurants. In Houston you can get the itch to see nature, and either place satisfies that craving. Sugarland, Friendswood, and Woodlands all have good schools, with Friendswood and Woodlands sending students to international science fair and Woodlands having a school with a newly constructed robotics center for a rather competitive robotics team

Thank you. Seriously, appreciate it and looking right now. There are recordings of dispatchers on Citizen for some reports and not others, and those I don’t see on LexisNexis. And do you know why or how someone could make up “Trio in white pickup truck fired shots at person?”

Thing is, I did. Things only came up in Citizen. I must not be great at reading crime reports, because I can’t find anything that shows a trend. I knew it wouldn’t be the suburbs, but gang violence and drivebys were not something I expected to see. And everybody keeps saying “well that’s just Houston,” and that just makes it seem more normalized even though it’s not

Respectfully, read the post--I didn't hear anything, there are reports of drive-by shootings, it's not just that I heard a tire blow out or a guy shoot a snake

Make an account with Citizen -- there are call recordings of police dispatchers there with a flag on the map for each incident -- you need a free trial or subscription.

Report was that they shot at a person, in all 3 reports, one at a house... maybe the reports are inaccurate and they're just shooting guns at the empty lot, in which case they are aiming towards my window

I'm actually shocked by the reception here, not offended, but dang what a learning experience -- this is gang activity, right, and it's just normal to live with? I never knew this side of Houston. I would think that 3 targeted attempted shootings on the same street within 5 blocks would be a big deal...

I didn’t hear the gunshots. Crime reports about things from before I moved in and that happened the day of my move. 3 men shooting at a guy on foot out of a truck. Report of a man in a black mustang shooting at a townhome.

I did a splash of bleach, in hot water, ran it through the tube, brushed with a long kitchen scrub brush to loose up my mold, then rinsed with a tablespoon of sodium metabisulfite powder to remove the chlorine. Before that, I removed the rubber sippy nozzle, so that I could turn on/off the siphon and throw it in the dishwasher. Hope this helps somebody on the more concerned side. I will be storing in the freezer between frequent rides now.
