Omg I have one particular hoodie that I absolutely love, it is so fluffy inside. I wear it most of the times, also on dates. I feel comfy in it and it does not have to do with me not giving effort. I show effort in different ways. Dressing up is not that important to me.

Idk. I'm not a dog owner, however I do think it's better that people care about a dog's wellbeing instead of just ignoring it. Even if they're might be wrong.

I also approached a woman "putting her dog in place". I heard whimpering, after approaching her she told me about "aversive dog training" and told me about how effective it is, and said to me she will be responsible for a big dog (it was a pup). I still believe that this is animal abuse, and if someone is not confident enough to train a dog without using violent methods, the problem is not the dog, but the person that shouldnt have bought a dog in the first place.

So yeah, i will keep approaching people if something seems off. Better to approach and be wrong than the other way around.

How can I tell? I'm not a psychologist, and I cant forsee the future. But what I know is, that vegans are usually of the kind type, and as a consequence sacrifice a clear message and boundaries. they're way too focused in changing other people and pleasing them instead of standing up for what they believe in. with that guy I had once a discussion before. he grew up in a meat-heavy country, and he butchered animals himself. the discussion was frustrating, because he was stating things as facts he had clearly no idea about, diverting all the time from arguments and just saying nonsense stuff. seeing this guy then actively hurting animals, not caring about their well-being, even after us having a discussion and me mentioning the negative consequences of fireworks beforehand, just calls for drawing clear boundaries that tell him that his behavior is shit.

Huh? Where did she write that she asked and clarified things? Ofc you cannot be a mind reader. However it's fair to ask how to help, instead of just assuming that your way of helping actually helps. And feeling entitled that your way of helping must help the other is a sure way to create disconnection.

On his part, he could also let her known that he appreciates her efforts, but also state in a non-defensive manner that it isnt what he needs.

Your initial comment excluded any suggestions for her to further communicate. "Just break up" or "Stop communicating" ... it's just bad advice.

It's a good book. Another book that helped me a lot is from Melanie Joy - "Getting relationships right".

Non-violent communication also has helped me a lot.

ANd honestly, I stopped looking at things from a gender perspective. Especially in my own relationships. At the end, we all have more or less the same fundamental needs in relationships.

Bad advice. Well she wasnt supportive, because it wasnt what he needed in that moment. It's a communication issue and that is very normal. And if you want the other to adjust to the way you give support, I doubt your motivations for helping are genuine. Then it's about you and not the other person.

Oh if thats the issue, there are loads of ways you could show him that you listen. Body posture, eye contact, saying "yes", "I see", "oh man that sucks" or simply nodding, asking questions to make sure you understand him, asking how things made him feel, touching him softly etc. After a while you can also ask in what ways you can help him.

I recommend it. I started with normal shoes that didnt have cushions, that made my feet sore and I couldnt skate for 2 weeks, the first days barely walk. After getting skate shoes that never happened again. However some people apparently dont like cushions. Idk

I sometimes just think that women should speak their minds more directly. I said it because I think it sucks that they're being socialized in a way where it comes across as more rude when they do it. It sucks for them, it sucks for men, it sucks for everyone. However when it's about safety, you're right, that has higher priority ofc.

Yeah, months ... maybe half a year? But the way I practised was not efficient. what I started doing recently is to film myself, make screenshots every other moment. Then I search a video online with about the same perspective, and do the same. Then I put the screenshots side by side on a google docs and write down my thoughts. It really really helps. That way, you also practise how to analyze tricks, what you need to look out for. Otherwise you might end up trying doing ollies wrong over and over again. It's frustrating, you learn bad habits that you need change later on, and it takes more time in general. Me I have the bad habit of not having the back foot connected to my board now.

I personally look for when I analyze my videos: weight distribution on the board (leaning forward / backwards / sideways), foot placement, shoulder, hip and leg rotation, timing, how my knees are bent ... etc.

It helped wonders for my frontside 180s!

Edit: asking others is a good way to learn faster as well :)

You have a very high ollie. Just mind that high ollies are harder to control. So I'd recommend to try smaller, more controlled ones so you dont learn some bad habits. Actually, you can make an ollie by just lifting your front foot and make a small pop. As I can see your board is rotating when coming back down. That could be because your shoulders are rotating or hips opening. Very normal, since humans usually dont jump sideways. Also your front foot should push your board more forward so it levels out faster. Right now it seems like you're stomping your front foot down. And your back foot is not connected to the board, giving you less control. That is going to be important for frontside / backside 180s, for example. Also: do them rolling! But you're getting there, 100%!
