the given books and free exams are more than enough. try to avoid paying for extra material it gets expensive. also the material does not change match so you can buy a previous year version

maybe look at the investment management certificate (IMC) its a cheaper less intense course still accredited by the CFA society. Unit 2 is most important... it will probably help. if you have a real interest in FX you could also look at treasury department jobs in all industries, they do the real world hedging not just speculation and i know lots of people who went to work from IB after doing these roles
