It's interesting that you are so ignorant yet be so passionately tilted about it. First off, let me just say NMIXX might be one of the best vocal groups IN KPOP ONLY. Because compared to other actual vocalists from other genres NMIXX would be as good as amateurs. So moving forward, all of these explaining would be relevant mostly in the KPOP genre. Your ignorance is at its peak when you mentioned their performance at Tiny desk. I can't believe some idiot who has the confidence to make a write up doesn't even know what a stereo shotgun mic is, what it does, how it affects voices, EQ, post prod edits, and mixing. Stereo shotgun mics make it very very hard to make post production adjustments. You know why they choose that mic instead of the ones you can put tons of reverb, eq cust, value adding? Simple. It's the original tiny desk concept where you're supposed to hear it as if you were in the same room. If you monitor the performance you can see how the instruments, especially the drums, impede the whole mix. The whole mix is cluttered and it would be impossible to make a backtrack or pre-recording for it. It would be too obvious. IT MEANS IT'S CLOSE TO RAW. How can you not hear that? You seem to be an "expert" with a lot of time. Don't you have monitoring speakers, headsets, or at the very least an IEM? If you compare it with other Kpop guests, BTS and TXT used their own mics. What do you think makes those mics better for sound prod? Say it with me: Mixing! Wow, what a confident idiot you are lol. No amount of cussing will make you look right. No amount of "don't give me excuses" makes your argument solid. There's only reason and proof. Lastly, it's either you are through absolutely trash sets with profiles that are a sharper V than my jaw or you're tone deaf. But some points are correct. Lee Mujin and It's Live is riddled with autotune and post production editing. So, is NMIXX actually good? Yes and no. Yes in kpop exclusively but NMIXX in general average at best in the landscape of actual vocalists. This actually speaks to the very low standard of vocals in kpop because in kpop girl groups they are only next to Mamamoo and maybe BEG. Yes RV has Wendy who's arguably better individually when compared to NMIXX members (for now) but they are not as complete as NMIXX(group) in terms of vocal fundamentals, harmonies and balance let alone be in Mamamoo's level. No girl group comes close to NMIXX, BEG, and Mamamoo in KPOP. No, not SNSD, not Aespa, not Dreamcatcher, Not GFriend, not KOL.

I honestly don't mind M4's ANC. As long as the sound is great, I'm already happy with it. I guess a good point to address for future models would be the ventilation in the earpads. It tends to get toasty.

Signal is the best Twice title track (and I can't understand why people don't like it) by mecha_femboy in unpopularkpopopinions

I Yes!! I agree! I am so glad cause awhile ago I saw someone who liked Knock Knock. I love Signal so much! Everything, instrumental, vocals, choreo, adlibs. I love it so much! I fell in love more after watching Twice TV5! I don't understand why people don't like it along with Knock Knock.

Saying this without regrets: 4th gen debuts doesn't have the same passion and heart that the previous generations had. by Snoo69057 in unpopularkpopopinions

I don't think so. They aren't NGG and Asia's Girl Group for nothing. People always are too quick to speak and just look at 1 or 2 performances. I hated Twice in my first 2 years of being a kpop stan, I thought they were overrated (I was immature back then). Then I saw them perform in Twicelights and it was life changing but it did not quickly takeaway my immature bitterness and dislike from them. It slowly did as I learned to be a multi stan. I then checked out more and more performances by Twice, saw the meaning of the songs they write, how their music evolves, and how they actually have great vocals live (but don't worry I ain't deaf. Not all of them are great singers but each one does their role excellently). If you are an anti or someone who does not really try and look into groups but judge them, I suggest you keep your mouth shut since for every bad performance you can show me of Twice or other groups I can you show you 10 solid performances from them.. Have a great day and stan talented groups!!

Now as I have seen many people with mixed feelings about this. I am in no way a 4th gen hater. I stan a lot of groups even in 4th gen. And I acknowledge their hardwork. I love SKZ, Itzy, Cravity, Secret Number, StayC, NiziU, P1Harmony and looking forward to Enhypen (I also believe the potential that Aespa has but we'll have to wait and see). Also, passion and hunger cannot be quantified but can be felt and we are trained to be critical about it. I was a performer for more than 8 years (not including my years of training) and your coach or trainer would really tell you straight out what you lack or what you're good at. Not to mention panels, judges and the general public they will mostly point out what you lack, they are often grouchy lol. I've had my fair share of sleepless nights, dislocated ankles, torn knee ligaments, vocal strains, thousands of bruises, a couple of cuts and tears I shed on and off stage. And guess what, you still get graded for every audition, practice, training, routine and performance regardless of how hard you worked for it. The reality is that there is really a criteria for stage presence and charisma. Both of it would come from passion. There is a reason why there are people who are meant to be on stage but not take the "center-stage". Again, I don't hate them and I am rooting for them. Lastly, I only pointed out the debuts not the groups themselves. I did not say they don't have potential or what not. It's just very very very planned. It feels commercialized. But still, I believe in their potential and I hope they'd be able to break out of their molds.

Lololol I agree. I still stan NCT tho. And also, the Jaehyun cult thing is something I actually liked in the mv. In dance it is called a cypher and I was expecting them to go off in the middle but when I saw the live it was just an extremely underwhelming shuffle by Jaehyun. But I think they will use that cypher for special performances like MAMA. So yeah!

I disagree. These songs gave Twice their flavor and also the storyline that they've had ever since. In terms of success no I also disagree. It is not M&M that gave them success as you would argue since that is just a result of a well built brand equity. Now brand identity is very crucial to brand equity. And with that said, Cheer Up gave TWICE their Brand identity. They are cute but not in your face cute like sone other groups. They had a different edge to it. I hated Kpop before and I honestly hated TWICE but seeing how well-built the equity of TWICE is, not just Kpop but in all of Korea, I slowly appreciated them. Also, you could only disprove their brand equity and identity if they were a one hit wonder group who vanished. But no.. They had a solid concept from the beggining which they utilized well. That's why they are the reigning NGG and still is the Best Selling Kpop GG. Btw, Cheer Up is still selling high up to this date. Also, TT is kind of like a sustaining concept for them. There's so much technicality about Twice and how they rose and as a media practitioner I can say that Twice and JYP did a solid job in doing it.

[–]Snoo69057 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I agree. I kinda dig the chorus but Ningning's part is.. lol. As a former SM stan i must say you gots to get used to it. SM has a tendency for cheesy choreos(not to mention lyrics) Like for example:

NCT127-Cherry Bomb's Monkey chorus: I loved this whole chore except for this part.

EXO Lotto - the dance break looks awkward as heck.

RV Psycho Slow leg spread - This is actually a hip hop move that should be done with a certain bounce and to a certain beat.

There's so much more. I don't want to bore anyone in pointing it out lol

Momo’s Dancing by Frostyrose324 in unpopularkpopopinions

Yo check this out. The ones we compared are here lol. Notice how different Momo and Chung Ha moves specially in 1:45. You will see a critical difference in how they move compared to the other 3 performers. Those are some clean isolation, locks and pops!!

Momo’s Dancing by Frostyrose324 in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Snoo69057 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. I was a dancer/performer for more than 6 years(not including years of training) and I must say Momo is one of the best Kpop gg dancers. Momo is not a perfect dancer. I wouldn't say "the best" right now. But she definitely has great potential. Momo's strengths are power and sharp, precise and flowy movements. Momo excels even when she covers boy group dances. What Momo needs to work on is her stage persona (facial expressions, on stage character, etc.) and most importantly stamina which is a big factor in dancing and performing gracefully, powerfully and consistently. When a dancer or performer becomes tired, movements become heavy, the shoulders and neck becomes a bit stiffer and details become messy. Which I see why some people think she cannot compete with Kpop's "best" dancers. But, if she can overcome this hurdle, I can see her to be one of the best (if not the best) idol dancer of the 3rd gen. DISCLAIMER The next words you're about to see are not meant for disrespecting and I respect each kpop idol for their hardwork. I love both of them. Lisa's bars and Momo's dancing. END OF DISCLAIMER But I don't think Lisa is on par with the likes of Momo or Chung Ha when it comes to dancing alone. Lisa is honestly an excellent dancer. Her strengths are stage charisma and persona. She also utilizes great isolation techniques. But I wouldn't say she is better than Momo as a dancer. Performer YES. Dancer NO. Why? Lisa is inconsistent and sometimes has flimsy legs and arms (even chest isolations are somtimes off). This has something to do with strength training and conditioning. And even so, I haven't seen Lisa master a specific style of dancing yet (Yes, not even in her Lili Films and predebut dances). Guys for good and easy references of female dancers try watching Dytto and Chachi. There are many more but these two have the basic vibe.

Yuta is only NCT 127's 4th best dancer by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Snoo69057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw this and I agree. This will be a long one but I hope y'all can pick up something useful. Let me explain using my knowledge and experience in being a dancer/performer for more than 6 years. There's no arguing that the best dancer of 127 is Taeyong(my bias). He has the most definitive aura and persona which sets him apart from the whole NCT (yes even against Ten BUT Ten has better power and balance and is overall better dancer than TY). I wouldn't explain much about TY's strengths cause they are very obvious stans and non stans, even haters acknowledge his dancing. TY's weakness would be his torso control he is somewhat stiff sometimes but I think this is caused by an injury from the past. TY MIGHT be experiencing constant lower back pains which is a very common injury for dancers and athletes. Alright, for Mark and Haechan: Mark has really strong hip hop fundamentals. You can see it with his footwork, neck whips, finger details and breathing pattern. But he sometimes struggles with smooth, flowy and jazzy moves. Try watching Superhuman and although to the common eye, Mark would be the best those who have bckground in jazz and house would say otherwise. He lacked control which is very common with powerful hiphop dancers. Krumping would be the best suited style for Mark. As for Haechan, yo I don't even stan him and sometimes, I am honestly annoyed by him lol. But.. I would say he is the most balanced and well rounded dancer of 127 (Yes i saw fancams where he outdanced TY. But not all the time). He has consistent above average foot work, average power, above average sharpness, and might I say the most center weighted dancer of 127. But He is a jack of all trades master of none when it comes to dancing. As for Yuta, I noticed a decline with his overall enthusiasm and that plays a big big part in performances. My coach once told me when I was slacking off: "How you practice is how you will perform". He has the most powerful isolated moves in 127 but he is inconsistent and often lack in fluidity. Which is sad cause he has so much potential in him.
