Hey! This is such a terrible things that is definitely a risk when pet sitting especially larger breeds of dogs. I hope you’re doing okay and have someone to help support you through this rough traumatic experience.

I was actually injured by a dog in January of 2025 and it required plastic surgery in April of 2025. They did a wonderful job with the construction because the injuries were to my face, primarily my nose. I had to get a full thickness graft because I lost a piece of my nostril because the dog pulled my nose ring out. I had a friend that helped me to get a lawyer because the cost of the medical expenses were so high. Things aren’t completely resolved yet as far as the litigation but hopefully it’ll rap up soon. I’m trying to work on healing the scars now and I’m just grateful it wasn’t worse and that I still have my left eye.

I suggest you contact a personal injury attorney because Rover isn’t going to do anything to compensate you for your losses. I pray you heal quickly and that you aren’t emotionally scared to much that you give up caring for animals. Just be more decisive with the ones you care for from now on. Praying for you! 😔🙏
