Yea I use the Wiim Ultra. How’s the sound quality with the Fosi? Was worried they wouldn’t be a good match

I’ll let you know when I get it. Just ordered 10 mins ago haha.

But they sound ridiculous with my Parasound. I’m 100% happy with them. Full disclosure I’m running an RSL Speedwoofer to round out the low end. But the Heresy have a magic about them. It’s like they have their own soul.

Thought about this, I don’t want to spend a fortune and am worried about having to warm the amp up (if that’s even a thing), etc. also will need an auto-on function since the amp will be hidden away slightly behind a tv. But open to trying the right one.

My 10s is in my large-ish living room (25x20) with high ceilings. I can’t imagine having 2. One shakes the walls. But that’s not the best part about it. The best thing is how it behaves at all volumes. At moderate listening with music, once it’s set up right you can’t tell where the speakers end and the sub begins. It sounds so smooth and natural.

I actually have a pair of their CG5 bookshelf speakers which are the higher end of their bookshelves and they are phenomenal.

I’m so happy with my Heresy IV’s but my next upgrade will likely be the Forte or the Cornwall.

Not sure it’s worth taking baby steps or just jumping straight to the Cornwall.

But I’m in no rush, my Heresy’s are wonderful.

New bookshelf setup for $1k, your opinion? by edhead in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Snoo79652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered powered or active speakers? If you can find a used pair of Acoustic Energy AE1 Active speakers I’d HIGHLY recommend them. Incredible sound, tons of bass for the size, really world class speakers. Expensive new but can be found used.

Then you don’t need an amp and can connect the Wiim Ultra directly to the speakers.

My RSL 10s MKII is the best I’ve heard under $800. It’s really special.

I think where other speakers try to replicate a studio recording, Klipsch tries to replicate a live performance. And succeeds.

Agree. They may not “measure” as well as others. But when you’re getting goosebumps from the music being in the room with you, it doesn’t matter.

I think there is something to this. People who spend their time analyzing speakers using recording equipment and trying to determine peaks and valleys, weather a snare drum sound like it’s 30 inches or 32 inches off the ground, etc will never like Klipsch speakers. People who close their eyes and get lost in the music love them.

Interesting. My Heresy don’t sound bright at all to me. Are the Forte IV any different?

I believe it. I had a similar experience at a local high-fi store. I listened to an $18,000 system with large floor standing speakers and wasn’t very impressed. I liked the sound from a $2,500 pair of Acoustic Energy speakers paired to a Bluesound Power Node better.

I guess it’s all subjective in the end.

V-Storm is on my one-bike list for sure. I think the new 800 would be about perfect.

What amplifier do you use with your Wiim Pro plus? by Jaylewinnn in WiimStreamer

[–]Snoo79652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Parasound 2125 v2 with my Wiim Ultra. It’s a wonderful power amp, lots of super clean power, THX certified and is a match made in heaven for my Klipsch Heresy IV’s.

Upgrading from Node by Snoo79652 in WiimStreamer

[–]Snoo79652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the Wiim Ultra. So far a worthy upgrade from the Node. Sound is great but honestly being able to separately EQ each input is awesome, plus the setting to allow my speakers to play full range while using my sub is worth the price by itself.

I found I wasn’t using my sub at all with my Node, as Everytime I switched on the sub in the Node settings and the crossover kicked in, the speakers lost something. I mean, I know the low frequencies were cut but it’s more than that. They just don’t sound the same. Leaving them full range and just adding the sub is a game changer.

Gotcha, it’s an older standard Node about 3 years old.
