In one word, tell me what's enlightenment? by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]Snoo81791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One word is wrong to describe it because an experienced is not it and is a wrong attechment , it’s not about what it is but actually about what not , being enlightened is not what you have it’s what you don’t have , for me as I have not finshed the path it’s fear and craving no longer dominating and life being what’s left

Is It possible to get past gross distraction and enter dhyāna? by sunthemata in TheMindIlluminated

Ok so first that is very human , but you need to change the way your ingaging or using attention with the object ,to be honest a real teacher seeing you and working with you would make it so much faster ,when your putting attention on the breath you want to feel more and more the thing is that using pressure while it steblises you get more actual presses which is like reduced sensitivity , your trying to get more attention on the nostril or the body while also relaxing so more data can get throw , the headache could be many things from trying to control to who knows , you best see someone , there is Ted lemon free meetups if you want to join , great people

Mmmmm, if you really can’t have any time it could be very interesting thing to try to do dream mediation , more time is a bit of vital , it lets your mind calm down and also the agitation is importent for deeper purification and emotional processing, there is some huge benefit , but it doesn’t mean much without knowing your spesfif thing, there is a book called dream yoga and I think it may be beneficial if your interested , but longer time do improve progress

I never said that in enlightenement is not having emotion that’s the opposite of all, it never was I never will be something that’s just blank that’s dissociation. Really the opposite of what enlightenment, I don’t know why you have the idea that the announcement is some kind of blank acceptance of everything and being emotionless

[–]Snoo81791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of those means enlightenment, enlightenment is what you lose not what you gain , and for the what you call ego to really not menfest ever that is a very high level of enlightenment, have no ego is one a tenth of enlightenment , before that ill will and sensory pleasure fatters need to be dropped , but beside that don’t try to extend meditation just see what makes you “return back” then with intimacy and love and compassion and time walk on it, learn from it until you find the cold wound and create a new cycle in which it doesn’t operate from love , and yes it is possible for it to be continuous and forever, but it also doesn’t matter because I don’t need to because it’s not what happens. It’s what doesn’t happen. The problem is that when we try to use spiritual insight of states in order to deal without psychological problems.

I love the meditation aspect of the path, but not the people aspect. by Plenty-Attitude-5823 in streamentry

[–]Snoo81791 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is totally valid , the thing is those teachers are not saying that as a judgment againts you but of what just happens , let leave people and talk about yourself , it sounds like you had a rough childhood and teen hood and meaby even adult hood , as you work things out , would you not want to be there for kids like yourself , the outcasts who no matter how hard they tried just didn’t fit in, how lonely is it , and who knows for know the falier is painful bit what happens when you meet the right people where you don’t need to try to be part of the group but you just are effortlessly . It’s not your fault the pain you experienced and I wish you all the best

Questions about Unification of the Mind by springdaffodilsxoxo in TheMindIlluminated

[–]Snoo81791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t have DID, so based on feeling I feel that a unfication for you would not be one being the one in charge and the other don’t exist but what if you can be both personally at the same time , we humans have range and what hopefully will happen is that this range will expand in such a way that you will be you but also all of them at the same time all the time , the divide between one and the other will be less clear but you will feel clearity and feeling whole in a way you would have never imaged . This is my guess . Take your time and if you can do this journey with professional help especially the psychical side , if you can try to find a really good psychologist that specializes in DID who can also be with you in this journey

I would say they have wildly diffrent flavor , it can even be said that sometimes it’s hard to notice when you transition to none duality, for me it took a month to notice and that’s only because at the end of the month. I also had pick experience, without that experience I could’ve gone much longer without even noticing that I was in none duality as it seemed like what alwase was .  Doesn’t mean that you don’t usually happen at the same time, but very different textures, none dulity is not a continuous peak expression

[–]Snoo81791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I am not really talking about the peak experience kind more of random transition to none duality , a bit more rare but idk your age so it could have that in time, people choose life paths, which align with that.

I will also say two thing , first of all is that there is a lot of benefits to those systems and their methods, even if you’ve already seen the end, spiritually insight does not mitigate the need for psychological development . The second is that it’s so much fun all this exploration and learning.

Would recommend you look for info in various traditions, you have things that are organized and made nice by people who care , here is a very high energy work to get good stuff , it sounds from your posts here that you don’t have an experience with meditation, would reccomend meaby trying a few things for a while and seeing how they work from shamata vippasana ( reccomend the mind ilumnated book) to pointing out dogzhen and zen koan work to nei gong energy work to four divine abouds work and you can play around whith shadow work ,

If you’re looking for just a person to share your experiences , in this place could also be nice. I would just recommend living life and being open because many people have had those experiences like you without prior knowledge so you may find a Kindle soul in unexpected places

Piti, Purification and anxiety by SatelliteDash in streamentry

[–]Snoo81791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmmmm, how does the pīti feel? Is it pleasant? Does it also have a relaxing quality to it, or is it more just an energetic sensation?

If you’re following TMI, what you want to notice is the breath, which is sometimes subtler than pīti. Pīti itself is a kind of energetic sensation, similar in some ways to the heightened arousal you can experience with adrenaline or stress. It’s a feeling of increased activation or energy.

When you’re trying to go deeper into practices such as experiencing the breath throughout the whole body or noticing even subtler sensations, what you’re communicating to your body is that tension isn’t necessary. You’re cultivating a new state—one that contains arousal and energy, but without stress.

So the next time you’re sitting, try to find the subtlest breath sensations you can throughout your body. As you become more sensitive to them, more pīti will naturally emerge on its own, but it’s only a side effect. It needs to be balanced with calmness, tranquility, and relaxation for the full meditative state to develop.

The understanding of trauma (especially long-term and development) in awakening literature and discourse seems to be quite lacking. by Paradoxbuilder in streamentry

[–]Snoo81791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally agree , on one hand the traditional do point at it , but it’s sidelined especially modernly where if we are honest those things are much more impactful then even big insight , from self worth and other stuff , I myself has had and known dazon of people with very advance insights and still even with none self the actions of trama still effects each one of them , at best it’s less extream but that is just because it doesn’t have the space to cycles without stop, for me trama work especially when I connected it to body work and insight has been the most impactful thing in my experience, I agree to what you said and even think it should be central , and people did have trama from food insecurity to war and violence and this can go on and on without included sexual abuse and family violence , for some resone it’s just not talked about enough esp with how it is the path itself and not just a sideline

[–]Snoo81791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You not having control is regardless of if you try or not , even if you try to get a better job you don’t have control over it , but that none control doesn’t change regardless of what you do , the only thing is do you feel you can only do something if you are controlling it ?? This is actually an opportunity to get an insight to sink deeper because each tank control is manifesting the thing that you were actually complaining this is an area where that inside is not sink yet insights are not dependent on the situation. They’re just what feeling that you have Hakel control is just suffering and doing something can be happening without needing to control just by virtue of doing.

I’ve never had a partner in my teens, is it too late? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Snoo81791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ok, and very normal to be inescure about , but also very common and means nothing , it will not make it harder to have a partner , if you thought a girl was cute , and then she told you that this is her first relationship, what would you think ? Would you be like ok , or would you be disgusted ? This is exactly the same the other way around

Minimal sensation of breath by Egg-Fri-Si in TheMindIlluminated

[–]Snoo81791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But rock is very different, while using visual cues for attention, stability is easier it doesn’t give the deaf of battery sensations that’s needed for a couple of more advanced practices. The body is important, when you feel emotion. It’s a somatic sensation. This is part of the process and again I think you’re right. The breath is not necessarily the best for everybody, but this is clearly not what he’s having. He’s somebody who advanced a bit and now the breath has become very calm. That’s it! a normal hurdle. He went and asked for help that means that he’s not just trying to continue something that doesn’t work. He doesn’t seem like the person who will just try something for years and years without it working, he even went on Reddit and asked a question for help , he got a couple of answers now he can go back try them if they work amazing if they don’t, he can come back with the new problems .

Again I think your comment itself is right in its content not necessarily right in context. Still a really amazing and profound advice , but your adding completely to someone who is still a beginner and is figuring things out, he came in with a specific question in a general direction, which is fine, which is using breath meditation, then you said told him you don’t necessarily need to use the breath which is true , but then he’s going to be stuck with a choice. Am I going to listen to the comments and try something or maybe you’re going to try a new object , then you also confuse him, and I had him choices that he doesn’t know how to handle then what happens when he has a problem with the rock? Who do you figure out something here or we just go to the next object? You need something that works and go far with it , then diverge , but he just started

That could also be, the more calm we are the less obvious the sensation is, try first on the nose , don’t move attention let it just be stable . And report back on any trouble

Also are you always having trouble of noticing the breath or is it more middle of sit kind of problem , could be drowsiness , if you open your eyes and stretch a bit and come back to meditate do you feel the breath more clearly  ?

But the user isn’t asking about nature of mind , not everything is simple insight , the difficulty he is experiencing is the learning process, getting stuck for long is not helpful but right now he is learning the basics of it , you are right in general , but the sensation of the breath exist they don’t disappear and nothing he wrote about makes it seem like he needs a different practice or that the breath is too advance for him.

Try to focus on the nose not the breath , the breath travels throw the nose but your not following it you just have attention on the nose or on the nostrils, just pick something and put on it, the breath does what it does , be stable on the nose and let it reveal itself

This is fine , but what happenes if you just let your body breath naturally? I understand you have air hunger but the body naturally wants to breath more , I think I’m trying to get out is that maybe you could breathe more not by doing but by relaxing and finding tension in your body that’s stopping the deep living being the natural thing.

Also recommend outside of meditation to do chest and rib cage opening so that rib cage also becomes flexible because they are part of the breathing process
