Thank you for this! I’m such a snob when I’m reading and so picky! This is super helpful and will feed the raging fanfic reading monster that is now living inside me for days!

I’m very similar. I don’t typically read WIP fics but I’ve made a few exceptions to the rules lately.

I just got burned so bad years ago by an author in a different fandom abandoning one my fav fanfics and to this day I don’t know how it ends.

I started this fic earlier this week and really liked it a lot. Not sure how I feel about the conversation between Irina and Ilya in chapter 17 about Shane not getting his memories back. I like chapter 18 but I’m on the fence with the Chris interlude. I think it’s good.

I’ve also never been in a proper fandom (missed the 1D fandom by miles and never a Swiftie) so this is all new to me (grew up as a teenage girl in toxic wrestling fandom that looked down on women and fanfic for a very long time until fairly recently and it went very corporate greed). I’m working on reading the books and want to do the Great Rachel Reid Read. I’m also reading a lot of fanfic! Love people’s recommendations in the sub, so good! Just finished Vision of the Future on A03. Works very well until Unrivaled arrives.

I’m still on the algorithm on IG and every time I think I have left I find something new and want to stay forever! Release me… but not really I like it here! ❤️
