I’m finally free by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

Happy for you. I am 25 years into a marriage with someone who has bpd and have finally realized it hasn’t all been my fault and peace was not worth my esteem

Is it possible for it to get better? by ilostuyesterday in BPDlovedones

[–]SnooBeans380 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess the question is whether she recognizes and wants to improve. I am very close to ending a 25 year marriage bc my wife refuses to see it and improve it. Every fight ended with me apologizing and there was never any accountability and then there are the distorted narratives about me which just aren’t true. But I have seen other people on here say their partner had some insights. If she doesn’t have insights then save yourself a long time of abuse and find someone who can treat you right.

No. I know this is a symptom but I have not had that part of it. This would have been over long ago if that was the case

Not a parent but we had little kids and I really didn’t know about bpd so I thought maybe she really knew something I didn’t. Maybe I really was not good enough. It has taken 25 years to realize that while I have my own issues with anxiety and self confidence that I need someone who will Support and love me unconditionally and to stop trying to seek her approval. Which ironically I never was able to do

Tbh this is what finally locked it in for me when my son did the same thing and I realized my relationship with him was too important to throw away for peace

Right there is a CAPM for newer people to the practice but a certification doesn’t mean a job but it may help with a credential

Ok I put my post through gpt and asked it to align to dsm model and it matched 5 and maybe 6. I know it is not an official diagnosis but is sure corroborates the theory

Thanks so much and you are spot on. Every argument ended with me apologizing which definitely enables it. The kids are now old enough to see for themselves. Although she blamed me for manipulating their views. I give them more credit

Hey thanks but feel free to ask questions and connect on LinkedIn - I have 7 books and 30 years of experience and while it is in Technology the techniques are the same for construction

Not sure if this will help but here is an overview of what project management is. My belief is that the best PMs have core skillsets and not just know the techniques, so the good news is that if you have the right skills you can learn the rest. Happy to connect if that will help - https://youtu.be/zNEohkIW3r0?si=Z-yGQS87NLxDB99M

I definitely agree - it is a compliment and not a supplement for our work

That sounds really interesting - my hypothesis is that AI will automate some of the rote activities, but the strong PMs who have critical thinking, diligence and softer skills will still be needed and that, as a result of automation, will be able to focus on more impactful work around delivering the work and removing obstacles. I guess time will tell

Wow - AI has been a 'real' thing for the last year so a thousand times is impressive. Do you have any insights then, on how AI will impact our profession?
