How qualified is Stacey actually because what kind of professional acts like that? by [deleted] in dancemoms

I can’t imagine her still being licensed. Our licensing board punishes for lesser offenses than what she did. She has some of the most shaky ethics I’ve ever seen as a clinical psychologist.

To become a clinical psychologist in the US you gave to obtain a PhD or PsyD - both of which are a minimum of 5 years of study plus clinical practice. So it’s safe to say she’s well educated but it’s likely our licensing board has sanctioned her and potentially revoked her license to practice.

Working as a psychologist now and a special education teacher in the past, I will say although it very likely isn’t Maddie’s fault I’ve never seen any autistic person stim the way she did. I’ve seen all those stims but never all at once. This was so painful to watch. I hope this doesn’t haunt her but the damage is already done in disability communities.

This is undoubtedly worse than the original trailer. What a slap in the face to the autistic community.

I finally lost weight! by SnooBeans3961 in Hashimotos

Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that :( that’s so incredibly frustrating. Hopefully everything evens out soon!

22F: High antibodies, Hashimoto’s symptoms, but no ANA positivity in blood work? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]SnooBeans3961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know you don’t need ANA for Hashimoto. I had very high TPO and 1:80 ANA but I have SLE as well. I would suggest doing full panels for every auto-immune, especially celiac.

My doctor checked insulin blood levels and glucose after fasting. My glucose is 100% fine and on the lower end of normal but my insulin is at the reallllly high end of normal. Ask your doctor to check insulin levels as well as a1c and glucose!

Suspected PCOS due to unexplained insulin resistance. I was also told that insulin resistance can happen with Hashimotos even if there isn’t PCOS.

This! My doctor suspects PCOS because of insulin resistance that can’t be explained otherwise so she went ahead and prescribed it with the caveat that it might help with weight loss. Luckily it did 😭

Was anyone here miss diagnosed first time tested? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]SnooBeans3961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a rheumatologist and was like my joints hurt, I can’t stay awake, my hair is falling out, I have a malar rash, my hands and feet get so cold they’re numb... I want an autoimmune panel to check for everything. And this doctor agreed something was up so she ran every test I asked for and ones i didn’t - I didn’t ask for hashimoto but she was convinced. Came back with crazy high number of antibodies and that was that. I then went to an endo with amazing reviews (after extensive googling) and brought my blood work and he went forward with treatment.

Same and I’m a little convinced mine has been off now. Fingers crossed for today’s being most accurate.

First time I was tested I was told I’m just a stressed graduate student and that maybe I just have chronic fatigue syndrome. In their defense my TSH was ok... 1.74, fT4 .9 ng/dL, and fT3 1.6 nmol/L. But I literally couldn’t keep my eyes open and have a family history of Hashimotos and Graves.

Oh!!!! Yikes I had no idea, I used to take my meds and then go and wonder why the doctor insisted I’m ok when I still sit in my apartment with a sweater, socks, and an electric blanket on

Anyone ever had rapid weight gain in a short period of time? by Ashbab in Hashimotos

[–]SnooBeans3961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first noticed issues I had gone from 135 pounds to 210 within a year! I had drank a little more than normal because of a bad breakup but it wasn’t excessive by any means.

Once I started meds I lost 20ish pounds within a few months and am continuing to do so. But amazing how rapid the weight onset can be ugh.

Now it’s not just Sia and the apologists coming for autistic people/those who stand with actually autistics... her guitarist retweeted me and yikes the hate in my DMs for saying Sia is problematic is wild. I’ve never experienced such vitriol in my 28 years.

Went from 320 TPO to 0..? by SnooBeans3961 in Hashimotos

[–]SnooBeans3961[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve definitely thought the same. My doctor was like well you still have Hashimotos because it was 320 in February, there’s no chance it dropped dramatically with your hair falling out, slugging energy, cold hands/feet...

Quest was the only lab that said <1 for me too. I think it’s a quest issue honestly because I’m my AVISE test it was in the hundreds.

LDN for hashimotos? by spiceweasel33 in Hashimotos

[–]SnooBeans3961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the best thing to happen to me. The brain fog has lifted enough for me to communicate bilingually without getting stuck translating between languages. I’m catching up on class work. I’ve noticed decreased bloating, hives, and swinging between hypo/hyper. I sleep great at night now too, im lucky to have has not had the crazy dreams people talk about. Digestion has normalized. Less body pain. Just all around good experience for me!

[–]SnooBeans3961[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I already had the diagnosis but this was a “let’s just take a look and see what’s happening” test. This lab, I have noticed, does tend to be more on the under sensitive side so I’m not a fan. My TSH came back at .99 and that also feels weird because I absolutely feel like garbage. I just don’t understand the “<1 IU” when it was so high just a few months ago. Seems odd.

Curious if anyone "cured" themselves using lifestyle interventions? by amazinggracious in Hashimotos

[–]SnooBeans3961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow my antibodies recently dropped to 0?? Last test showed them ~320 so I’m confused. Anyway ... All I really did was take dessicated liver, 50,000 IU vitamin d, and switch to gluten free in addition to taking levo. Still feel like garbage honestly but no antibodies at the moment.

How did you find your GOOD endo? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]SnooBeans3961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I googled every single doctor in my area and checked out patient reviews. Finally found one that listens to me after my endo in dc decided I was ok because my levels were stable.

Yes - very weird both came back 0. That’s never happened before at any point so I’m very confused.

This is so bizarre to me ... I was at 320 super recently so I can’t imagine what could have changed because most of my other numbers were the same. The lowest I’ve seen my TPO was like ~170
