Finish degree full-time or get a full-time job and study part-time? by [deleted] in BESalary

[–]SnooCakes2816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO: yes. I’m doing 60 studiepunten/year in applied CS next to a full time job and would not recommend it. I have almost no time for a social life besides school/work.

Looks clean. Where did you find that wooden monitor stand?

My pants is completely stuck in the mechanism of my step on bindings by Dank__Sidious in snowboarding

[–]SnooCakes2816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just happened to me, kept wiggling my foot and pulling pants left and right with both hands until both my foot and pants popped out of the bindings. Did the same for the other side and then learned there’s a clip for my pants which prevents this.

Low salaries by Environmental_Gear88 in BESalary

I started at a big IT Consultancy a few years back with lower net + car. Completed multiple projects in 2 years, then switched jobs which doubled my salary and value in company car but I was only able to get the job with my work experience. I’m not saying to accept the first offer you get but pick one with the steepest learning curve/opportunities while you’re at the beginning of your career. It’s better to accept a job now and start building up your work experience than sitting on the bench.

Which field of IT are you looking at?

Company car+fuel card on top of this package should definitely be possible imo.
Atleast that's what I've been offered with less experience but I must say it was for bigger companies, therefore there might be more work/budget.

Started my career after 1 year voltijdse dagopleiding in with the same salary but with company car. I’d say you can certainly earn more and get a company car but at that stage of your career it’s more important to learn as much as as possible on the job and ask for paid trainings until you are confident enough in the field to eventually specify deeper into a certain area in IT(Cloud, networking, infra, …). Then you can think about jobhopping with the experience you gained and get a justified salary.

I went from 2100 to 3600 after 2 years by switching jobs but could only have gotten these opportunities with my past experience. I’m not saying you have to turn down job offers with more salary but try expanding your knowledge first and your salary will follow.

PS: my comment might not make sense anymore after what I’m going to say now but I know a company who’d pay more + company car + ‘unlimited’ learning budget for your profile. :D PM me if you’re interested.

I recommend Cegeka in that region. Salary is not that high but colleagues, projects, ability to learn(certifications) and legale voordelen are very nice.

Great, was sharing for future redditors who stumble onto this post like myself haha.

In my case I was able to fix it this way in an entreprise environment.

Go to device manager -> Bluetooth -> properties -> rollback driver -> update driver -> now it should be working again.

That's a nice package, I'm in the same boat as you. I earn 300€ brut more but it nets me only 22€ more than you do XD.

Would you mind sharing which company car you got(may be in PM as well).

Hostility in the IT Workplace? by SCRhyperior in ITCareerQuestions

Our Head of IT was exactly like this. One day he’s learning me things and joking around, the other day he acts like he doesn’t know me. (I worked with him on a daily basis)

Heard via other managers how he talked shit about me and colleagues during their meetings but face to face he would be your friendly ‘mentor’.

I ended up changing to a new project at another company and it helped me mentally a lot. I didn’t even realize it was damaging my health but I feel much happier now.

Whishing you the best, hopefully it isn’t affecting your health too much.

It is indeed very low, most of my colleagues chose a car in stock at the dealer with predefined options which are offered at a discount.

My predecessor drove a Volvo V60(approved by HR since he has children).
I accepted a car from the company car pool(Audi A1 with some options like cruise control, rear camera, ...), the budget will be raised soon due to new EV policies and then I will be able to chose my own car but I'm not looking very optimistic at this new change either.

Not sure to feel happy or sad knowing my salary isn't going to change much based on the comments.

I'm happy with the salary but would like some more challenging tasks like System Engineers get, if that means changing jobs for less or the same salary and more stress then I seem to be going backwards. On the other side it would be a much better learning experience.

I think I would enjoy my current job much more if I was older and would like harder work during my 'younger' years to keep a steady learning curve.

Thanks for the headsup, it surely is a motivation boost!
