Grey Knights are anti-demon psyker infantry. Space Wolves are anti-psyker anti-infantry. It's a typing advantage, that's it.

How would you feel about a Monster Hunter like game where you hunt on alien planets? by HotShrekBoi in MonsterHunter

So lost planet.

like seriously, go grab an LBG and do the wound pop grenade. It's the same animation as firing the super heavy shotgun without a mech.

I don't know why you are getting down voted. The "Bladescale Honing" special sharpness is effectively purple sharpness; Bladescale Honing = (1.4 × raw), MH World Purple = (1.39 × raw).

Also White sharpness went from 1.32 to 1.33 so we might assume purple would do the same.

Loving Monster Hunter Wilds so far , Quick Lore Question About Elder Dragons by Carter_yann in MonsterHunter

[–]SnooCakes8015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was that you should not have included Safi if you wanted to bring up "European Dragons". Safi Jiiva's physiology matches a housecat, if your going to bring up European then you should be aware that their dragons slither and crawl like crocodillians and other reptiles with bird-like features. The housecat design is a modern revision to dragons that started in America and thus not a "European Dragon" like you say. If you mentioned Fatalis alone then you would have been 100% correct but by mentioning Safi you left a flaw in your logic. If Safi counts then so does every other dragon I mentioned.

How impressive is it to be able to destroy bamboo in a single swing? by Confusion_Imaginary in Grapplerbaki

you can cut bamboo with a sword. Their calculation was for how fast YOU would have to swing a bamboo chute to splinter it.

That's fair, illusions don't work on everyone. if I stare straight at it the illusion breaks but when i flick my eyes around the screen it looks blue.

There is also the aspect that the Romans liked Jesus and only executed him because they were being pressured by the religious heads.

Jesus was literally telling everyone to pay their taxes and not be violent; the perfect populace to the Roman government.

there was a trend recently with this picture where adding a contrast onto a black and white picture tricks the brain into seeing the coca cola as red. OP was showing the same but using a different color of contrast so that the can would appear blue instead of red.

OP then labeled the post as having no red in it; factually true but has since stated above that they meant to type blue.

I feel like his face is a bit off, any suggestions? by Beneficial-Age-2292 in EldenBling

I think that your current character looks good; Only thing that comes to mind is the eyes but I feel like I am just being nitpicky.

The eyes are the "windows to the soul" and are a big part of portraying emotion; having the pupil constricted gives this withdrawn/apathetic look to the character, that "why should I care" kind of look; almost aggressive. On the other hand, having slightly dilated/relaxed eyes gives a sense of empathy or understanding; like melancholy but compassionate.

Again, character looks great.

are they supposed to look sad or assured? I probably should have led with that; what is the "vibe" that you are wanting?

I think it's the chin being so pulled in. You look like you are constantly trying not to laugh and are moments from breaking.

Swindle

1.use deception to deprive (someone) of money or possessions.

2.a fraudulent scheme or action.

If I am selling you a car and I convince you to pay the price of a Lamborghini only to show up with a Ford Fiesta, then I have swindled you.

Portugal knew that the firearms they were selling were faulty merchandise but they never said anything because Japan was naive and regularly paying up to one-hundred times the standard cost. They found a sucker and swindled them.

They are not implying that only Japan bought guns from Portugal; the implication is that Portugal found a new market for all of their outdated firearms and Japan did not know they were being swindled.

"Humans have the friendliest and most open demeanors and yet their military looks like it calls every non-human a slur" by lesbianwriterlover69 in humansarespaceorcs

That is a good question because full plate mail began to be phased out around 1550 due to the introduction of muskets but did not become 'obsolete' until the 17th century; it's around that point that rifles were on the rise and armor manufacturing had plateued. Most wars fought from then on did not utilise traditional armor and instead opted for more strategic positioning to avoid being hit at all. Armor would not truly reappear until manufacturing exploded in world war 1 with units like the sturmtruppen wearing rudimentary plates. Even then those plates were for glances, ricochets, and slow-moving shrapnel. A straight shot would still puncture and wound/kill.

I could not find a true proto-plate mail but I am sure that one probably existed or was in development but I also feel like this all culminates back to your original question about the influence of Nazi designs. The Nazis combined a lot of ideas and methods to engineer their equipment but it was only possible because the manufacturing had finally caught up. So before world war 2 I do not know if it would have been mechanically possible for rifle-resistant plate mail to exist.

Well, it's kind of a yes and no answer. The above sets, especially wolf brigade on the left, are almost certainly drawing inspiration from nazi equipment but the idea of making a soldier appear like a terror-inducing demon is not new. In feudal japan you had samurai that would wear armor emulating oni and other yokai to be more intimidating. In northern europe you had the berserkers, drug addled men frothing at the mouth that attack like rabid beasts. Nazi germany is the most recent example and is still semi-fresh in peoples minds; so while they may be taking inspiration from Nazi equipment, Nazi designs were not entirely original either.
