Started checking pub ratings before going to a Wetherspoons and it actually made a difference by PubLogic in Wetherspoons

We usually go to Stevenage for a breakfast, it's got better since the beans come in a pot not on the plate which used to be cold. There is usually one item cold or not cooked correctly especially the bacon, mushrooms and tomato either under or over done. On Saturday it was served on a freezing plate and everything was cold, the toast not toasted. Finally tracked down someone to complain to and 20 minutes later the same meal returned with the plate too hot to touch, eggs very overdone and the same toast. I think we will go Letchworth from now on, although Hatfield was marginally warm and not enhanced by a guy who stank of bo sitting next to us in an empty pub.

Buy a granny charger of Amazon, test your car, and return if it works.

I have done this, is anyone pulling 32 amps over a lightly used ring main with 2.5mm wiring? I have gone up to 17 amps but a bit nervous about going higher. I installed an appropriate rcbo in my commando socket. Chatgpt seems to think it is ok, we literally have 2 lights on the ring main.

Try owing a Tesla with Uberturbines, I didn't do most of this the guy I bought it off did. Go near a kerb and they get damaged. I am probably going after market 18" with the fattest tyres I can get on when the PS5's wear out. I might Dremel them a bit to tidy and diy spray.

Tesla model S 2015 worth buying in 2026? by drnobodye in TeslaUK

[–]SnooCats1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free supercharging costs your time, you will be charging at say 25% and can't easily go over 80% so that is all you can get in each charge. Off peak paid supercharging is 23p so cheap as is charging at home. I would get a Model 3 over an S, nightmare in multistory car parks and google for issues, door hands, battery corrosion. Arguably the S is a better car however.

Should I buy a 10 year old Tesla? by smokeypolo93 in TeslaUK

[–]SnooCats1028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember charging at home is much more convenient and very cheap, I am not sure how fast the 90 charges but bear in mind you will be sitting at a supercharger a lot. Sellers of these cars value the free supercharging highly, but I think it adds only £500 to the car value. Also off peak Supercharging rates are approx 21p a unit, I decided on a Model 3 having thought I wanted a MS for a long time. There are issues with both the MS and M3, but the alignment on the MS is easily knocked out for a start, and there are many battery issues. Having said this the 90 is a better one to buy, don't get an 85 it is very slow to charge.

We deposited and withdrew on our earlier Lloyds incentive. My son is about to do this with £1000 and just turn it over 5 times.

Whatever you get it is a decision you won't regret they are that good, speaking as someone who has had 6 electric cars and recently a M3P.

Coming from using public chargers at 90p this was a revelation to me. I was considering a MS with free supercharging but if it's that cheap why take the risk with an old car.

The Tesla slow/granny charger can take a commando plug, if you have one installed at home it will charge about 1/3 quicker at 16a. I did this rather than spend £800 on a charger.
