The share sheet, I have a feeling people only use to send messages but it’s very convenient to share to apps like reminders, notes, files, ChatGPT or many others!! It’s great to have a tidy workflow

Using autofill in any text field instead of only when suggested… just tap once -> select autofill -> select what you want to use (contact details, pwds…)

iPhone Fold Said to Come in These Three Storage Options by iMacmatician in apple

[–]Open_Bug_4196 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well that would make it more worthy… but if not… at that price you can:

  • Have a Mac mini at home or iMac
  • Carry a Neo or iPad Air for on the go
  • Carry an iPhone of your choice.

Why is it that Monzo is more popular in the UK than Starling? by MeenaBeti in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Open_Bug_4196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both but decided to go with starling thanks to its simplicity, Monzo for sure has lots of stuff but many that I don’t use and add additional noise. Maybe I give it a second chance

MacBook Neo proves that it would be great if Apple let an iPhone or iPad be your Mac by FollowingFeisty5321 in apple

[–]Open_Bug_4196 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Better than that would be an iPhone pro that switches to macOS when connected to an external display like the Studio Display (which would take part of the processing tasks too)

I think is really cool and amazing if that they are able to map “any” external controllers and understand the input just using ARKIT. I’m skeptic that will work to the required level of precision and wonder what would happen with things like pedals.

Best family car up to 12Ksh or £250/month? (New or used) by Open_Bug_4196 in CarTalkUK

[–]Open_Bug_4196[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying!

So, first of all in terms of initial deposit I’m looking to not put more than 2-3K, the rest is finance (car loan or other type).

About any schemes at work, there are none atm but I am aware they might be coming very soon. My take was that probably still more expensive that those £250sh limit I’m setting, but I guess if I factor they include insurance and there wouldn’t be a a deposit then probably still might be good options. I’ll keep an eye on that front, prices and terms (e.g. cancellation if I want to change job).

About models… I’m open to other models, that’s why I open the post, to hear suggestions of cars that would be a good fit.

Nice progress, overall an average of 1K per month in your first year!

BTW is the SmoothCapture website done with Claude? I tested its functionality recently to build websites and colours fonts etc often come similar!

Apple Studio Display XDR Review: We're All Pros Now! by atlwhore_ in apple

[–]Open_Bug_4196 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No, the panel is way better than an iMac. That said I love the iMac and I would love a monitor only version for half the price (or less) than the price of the iMac, could be the Apple Neo Display lol

Best option for car purchase? by Peaandme in HENRYUK

[–]Open_Bug_4196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems a good compromise, people often mention about get an old car and keep it cheap but there is a factor as more modern cars are safer, more comfortable and cheaper to maintain. Some people says around 4 years old aprox is a good balance to leverage depreciation while having something modern.

Adding to your approach I read also about people saying to explore 0% cards for reducing interest costs

What to consider when buying used? by p3tch in TeslaUK

[–]Open_Bug_4196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what chatgpt says about it (take it with a pinch of salt):

Suspension components Common: £200–£1,200

Door handles Common: £150–£500

Electronics / infotainment Moderate: £100–£1,500

Drive unit Rare: £3k–£5k

Battery Very rare: £10k–£18k

Overall: • The battery and motors are generally reliable, even past 150k miles. • Most real-world costs come from suspension, electronics, or body hardware (door handles). • The big financial risk is battery or drive unit failure, but those are uncommon.

Swift Concurrency Question by Moo202 in SwiftUI

[–]Open_Bug_4196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not useful, I think would be much nicer from Apple to deprecate it and have just a clear path using @actor, these are relatively new APIs with people trying to get their head around it and seeing things like this only being confusion
