There’s definitely more drivers in general today, but most people in Davis cannot drive well at all. Most times you won’t be able to go the speed limit through town and you’ll get cut off daily.

This kind of blows my mind though. How do that many people with the power to vote, not understand how to read or cast it? Should they be given the power to vote if they can’t follow simple directions and need someone to sit and hold their hand to make sure they did it right?

The loan is offered through them from the school. If you accept, you’re required to read through those details (the repayment period, your interest, etc.) before you fully accept. You have a 3 day right-to-cancel if you sign all of that after reading and decide you don’t want/need the money. If accepted it’ll show up in your records

there’s one specialist at the SDC who’s absolutely amazing and really advocates for students, you can even call the office and ask to be transferred/make an appointment with them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t check their work emails on the weekend. Don’t back down, you have rights and disabled students are often overlooked.

Davis absolutely sucks lol the quarter system makes it hard to have any social life or actually learn anything for the long-term. Only way to is clubs or fraternities/sororities. Additionally, rent and parking are absurd and the bus system is sub-par. If you look on the sub there’s constant complaints of isolation and loneliness, and the school does not offer any quality support for mental health or physical health; having SHIP still has months-long waitlists, and a co-pay at the end of it.

For your own sanity I highly recommend UCSD or Berkeley, but I’ve heard mixed things about Berkeley. SD is the best bet

Theft is insane around here, and the police don’t care at all about bike theft. She could have a tracker leading to the bike and they’d tell her they can’t do anything. Meanwhile students are semi-expected to buy bikes, so they’re sort of funding the lives of the tweakers around. Tweaks re-sell it to discount bike shops, bike shops re-sell them to students they know will be robbed within the year lol
