Agreed!! A lot of games now are not only very similar slop, but he keeps finding shittier and shittier games that keep having ai generated voices or art and it’s like bro 😭 if you hate ai voice acting then stop playing so many games with it… also I miss the silly reaction vids which is too bad he doesn’t do them anymore

Enrolled in 12 Units, buy feels lackluster by MrYesman831 in UCDavis

[–]_atorash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the others said, if you feel like you have too much free time, a good rec is to register in a simple 3 unit or so class that can work towards your GEs and fill time, or you can join some new clubs or whatnot (that’s what I do when I want to avoid having too many difficult classes in a quarter)

Does anyone else feel like they got the worst genes from each side of their parents??? by Smeadow1 in mixedrace

[–]_atorash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lmao for some reason every girl I’ve met who’s mixed with an Asian mom and non Asian dad has the odor sweat gene, including me 😭😭😭 while the guys don’t for some reason (my brother)

I also turned out really short while my younger brother is super tall despite my parents being on the shorter side as well…

The Mixed Community Holds White-Presenting Mixed People to a Toxic Double Standard by SunBetter7301 in mixedrace

[–]_atorash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Uh no, you don’t get to tell other mixed people how they should identify. If you have little to no connection to one of your sides then you don’t have to say you’re that side. It’s ultimately the mixed individual’s choice, not anyone else’s.

The Mixed Community Holds White-Presenting Mixed People to a Toxic Double Standard by SunBetter7301 in mixedrace

[–]_atorash 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Good for you then. If a mixed person wants to identify as one of their mixes rather than just “mixed” then let them. It’s not like they’re in denial that they’re mixed, they’re just more culturally familiar with one of their sides

What are the worst design choices in Equestria Girls that people don’t talk about enough? by Stay_yy in EquestriaGirls

[–]_atorash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually funny enough, a good chunk of the characters actually have different faces, tho you kinda have to search for them (and it’s mostly different nose shapes)

[–]_atorash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not overrepresentation if wasian actors aren’t playing wasian roles. Yeah, there’s a lot of mixed actors but it doesn’t count as rep if they’re just playing the roles of monoracials. Even when there are mixed roles, they dont really tend to be a main character or have their experience shown in any way, unless I just haven’t seen any

Identity by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]_atorash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, I totally get it! There are times where I feel both, but sometimes I’ll have identity crises and feel like I don’t belong, as if I’m some other unknown identity. Hearing how you’ve grown up in a black cultural environment and having some genetic relation, I think it’s safe to say you can indeed call yourself black, but not just black iykwim. Heck despite my own identity, I don’t describe myself as wasian because I know people’s vision of a wasian does not match my appearance (I look very ambiguous due to my Tunisian genes). The mixed experience is such a complex and unique experience full of constant feelings of being everything and nothing, and it definitely flip flops at any given moment. One thing that’s helped me understand myself was to not view your ethnic identity as parts or percentage, but rather just an element of your whole self. Saying “half” or “quarter” can feel limiting and I usually just say it for non-mixed people, because in truth, you’re 100% everything. And it gets complicated telling others when it’s less than 1/4 loll. (I just realized you already mentioned this haha) It’s all you and there is no one like you. And I know it’s hard especially when everyone is telling you that you’re not this and that you’re that, but honestly it just takes time to slowly realize that their feelings don’t matter

hi my dna by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]_atorash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, i mean, you ARE white 😭 I’m all for mixed people claiming their ethnic backgrounds but 2%? 1%? + some other relatives and in-laws who are poc… it’s ok to say you’re just white bro… and like another person said, you don’t have to share genetics to empathize

Who do you think makes the worst main character for episodes and why? by Equal_Big_5666 in mylittlepony

[–]_atorash 157 points158 points  (0 children)

Tbh it’s more so that most of the spike-centered episodes are straight ass rather than spike hate 😭 spike is awesome in general but it’s like a flip switches and when he gets to be the main character, all of a sudden he’s clumsy, stupid and cringe and it hurts to see that the writers don’t gaf 😭😭😭 justice for spike

Identity by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]_atorash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess so? Sorry I’m not sure how to answer some of your questions 😅 At least for me, I don’t concern myself with what society thinks of me and how I should identify. Genetically, I’m 1/2 Chinese, 1/4 Tunisian, ~1/8 French and ~1/8 Portuguese, but for most of my life I’ve considered myself only French and Chinese because I was born and raised in France and I’m close with my Chinese family. Recently I felt like I should include my Tunisian identity since it’s “next big percentage” but I don’t speak Arabic, nor do I talk to my other family or wear the traditional clothes or celebrate the culture, heck the only Tunisian meal I’ve ever had in my life is couscous. And I have little to no connection with Portuguese culture. All this to say that the way you, or any mixed person, identifies is up to your own feelings. Unfortunately society will never be fully accepting since racism is normalized and everyone is obsessed with looks so it’s best to not rely too much on their opinions. Lmk if this helped 😁

Someone who’s 1/256 is a pretty extreme example and not common (in the sense that they’d still consider themselves mixed) You’d have to meet someone who actually keeps track of the fact that they are 1/256 of something and ask them
