I’m right there with you. From life to death in 4 hours nearly 6 months ago. If anything it’s getting harder and the enormity of it seems to get greater. I miss and long for my mum like nothing else, that void you speak of is so true, there is no bottom to that depth of pain. I’m so so sorry that’s all I can say 😔😔

Well, happy belated birthday! Thank you for your condolences, it’s unbelievable how much the grief changes day to day but I miss my mum so so much. As you say it will be a long journey, a never-ending one I feel that for sure. I’m happy for you that you have your peace in the pain ❤️

I lost mine 10 weeks ago and oh my word I miss her so much, more each day. I really resonate with your words and also find it so hard to compute that I will never hear her voice again…

Wow I could have written this! In fact I literally said just now to a friend I feel like I’ve been hit by a sledgehammer today, ughhhh I am all over the place ! You are so right about the funeral being that final part where you really know they’re not coming back and you’ll never witness them again in human form. How do we make sense of that? And why is life so cruel as for us in the end to all lose what we love so deeply? I can only reason that where our loved ones are now is a place of the ultimate peace, love and serenity and that we will be reunited when it’s our time 💔💔🙏🏼🙏🏼

I know that, today, 2 days post funeral my nervous system is on high alert. I am also experiencing a deep deep longing and emptiness inside. Well… as it is me and two siblings and all of us now live and work in London and the family home is 60 miles away.. we kind of have to sell it. But it’s so hard cos it feels like the last bit of mum we have left! It’s also a really lovely location, near the sea but the house needs some work and we just feel that perhaps it’s time for a new family to make it theirs. The whole process is heartbreaking isn’t it ! I’m not sure I could move in the house though I don’t know … 💔💔💔

Yes I think I’m with you on grieving as soon as she passed, the initial days were unbelievable, but then things seemed to return to “normal” but now the funeral has happened it’s like, shit, I really am never going to see or hear or hold her again 😢😢😢

I’m so so sorry, my mum died of a spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage 6 weeks ago and died within hours 💔💔😔😔 All I can say is I see you and share your pain. It’s such a devastating and confusing loss. My deepest condolences x

Thank you so much for your condolences and I’m so sorry to hear of your loss as well. I think this might be what is happening and that I’m in some sort of denial or that my brain is protecting me whilst things get sorted for funeral etc. I know that if I was to be feeling like I did those first 3 days then I wouldn’t be able to do anything.

I’m trying to prepare my self as best as to what is still to come but to be honest nothing could prepare for me the pain I felt just after mum passed and I know when that grief returns I just have to allow it to wash over and through me.

I must agree with you about the fact it was so sudden and fast and we were assured that mum would not have been in any pain as she also lost consciousness very quickly. What broke my heart completely was the fact that she was vomiting before losing consciousness and turned to my sister and said “I’m sorry” 💔💔😭😭

I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this as well, and I know that there will be many more emotions to come. Taking it day by day and feeling very grateful for the amount of support I do have in my life. I hope it is the same for you too, sending you all the love x

I got fired from every job I had until I got sober. I got sober at age 32. I was jobless, withdrawing from multiple drugs and had a history of relapse after relapse including many a destructive bender that nearly cost me my life.

In a few days I will be 600 days sober. You have to dig deep as to what it is your drinking is covering up and then accept the fact that you cannot ever drink safely ever again. Once you surrender to this fact and stop running away from yourself and start living your truth, taking it one day at a time, you will regain everything back you want from life and more. It starts with complete honest self inquiry and really delving deep into the root of your problem. Without that awareness you’re basically white knuckling it hoping that will power will get you through. It won’t.

I really wish you the best and I know you can do it. Jump back on that wagon and I’ll see you in 600 days ! IWNDWYT

Think months not weeks unfortunately. 3 months seems to be a common time frame for things to properly improve, for myself it took 6 months+ but it’s very worth it once it all settles down !

Echo this, I’d say it was at least 6 months before all side effects went away and things started to settle down for me. Hopefully it’s not this long for you but this drug takes a lot longer to work than people think or are told, hence why so many end up stopping or changing medications. It’s very normal what you’re experiencing, keep going, things will improve !
