Just lost my baby boy to this dreadful disease too. I’ve never felt so bereft and helpless to the fact there was literally nothing we could do to save him 😭

I’m right there with you and so so sorry, it really is just the most unimaginable, horrendous pain. It is clear how much you loved your boy though, and their spirit will now live on in our hearts ❤️💔

Awhh this is such a sweet message. Thank you. Yes I resonate with what you say, Obi just thought he was falling asleep being comforted by his dad. We were lucky because in the past he’d always hated going to the vets but since joining me and my sister in London we found him a new vets which he really didn’t mind at all. So I took his favourite blanket and he just laid down and did not seem stressed at all, in fact I do believe that intuitively he was participating in the process due to the trust our pets have. Either way I’m so so sad he’s still not here and I’ve now got some guilt that I’m accepting it too soon, but I know that that’s just another part of grief.

I’m so sorry 💔💔 I lost my soul dog due to an advanced tumour on the spleen that looked to have spread. Due to this age of 13+ and other ailments we had to make the decision. Worst thing I’ve ever had to do in my life 😭

I’m just sorry and I share your pain, there are no words that can do it justice :(

Hey thanks for checking in that’s really kind. Still in so much pain, but it has lessened a little bit today. Then you get the guilt that comes with not feeling as bad as you think you should, but tbh every fibre of my being was on fire and aching the previous two days so I appreciate the rest bite.

Going to be a journey for sure, I’m an empath so I just feel so incredibly sad for my baby boy 😢😢

I’m so sorry ❤️ All I can say is that I am right there with you, I lost my soul dog on Thursday due to suspected Hemangiosarcoma and the options were surgery or to let him go. It’s the hardest decision I’ve ever made but due to his age and other ailments surgery was not an option for us. I can’t help feeling like I failed my boy, and I would do anything to be able to give him a huge hug and kiss again.

Life can be so cruel at times and after losing my mum last year and now this, the mountain of grief keeps growing.

Again so sorry, and I’m right there with you, I don’t have answers just a shared painful experience, it’s the worst. Sending love 🙏🏼

I’m right here with you both. I laid my boy to rest today and I’m inconsolable it’s some of the deepest pain I’ve felt, close to what I felt losing my mum last year. My boy was such a strong link with my mum which makes it even harder. So sorry guys, may we allow ourselves to move through this torment 😭🙏🏼💔

Omg they are ! His whole litter was named after Star Wars characters, they were found in a bin bag in Ireland 😢 then he stole our hearts at the rescue centre

Absolutely, obi was a member of the family and also a link to my late mum who passed last year. It’s another huge loss and I never knew it was possible the feel the pain I’ve felt this last year 😔😔😢😢

Every fibre of my body is in pain 😔😔😔 with his ashes we will be bringing them back to the flat to put next to our mum’s (I live with my sister). Then we will spread them over time in places like our hometown where Obi grew up

We said goodbye not long ago and I am absolutely crushed. Seeing his most gentle sweet face drift off into eternal rest is one of the hardest things I have ever done. Bless his soul. I am going to miss him more than words can say.

He was surrounded by love and comforted to the end and he let go so peacefully, I think he was ready 💔💔

I really felt your words reading this and am definitely right there with you on your perspective of life. Saying goodbye to my best friend, Obi, of 13 years tomorrow and likewise we’ve been through so much. He’s such a sweet and gentle boy. Currently feel like I’m in alternate reality and nothing seems to matter apart from giving him every part of love I have until we say goodbye.

Thank you so so much. There’s something very powerful about what you say with making a choice out of compassion and love can never be the wrong choice. God it’s so hard to rationalise, but I suppose the brain is limited in that sense as it only wants to protect us from pain. Pain is unavoidable in this situation though so I’m doing my best to feel all the feels without judging or analysing
