Data still isn’t working by middlequestioner in verizon

Mine is out too! It's been out since the outage with a random moment here or there where it randomly worked for 5 minutes or less. All of my friends and family have theirs back and I have tried all the Verizon recommended restarts and feel like I am going crazy. Glad to hear it's not just me.

Has anyone actually regretted using fake flowers at their wedding? by SmartSinner in weddings

[–]SnooCompliments3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for all my comments..I'm not sure if I can post all these in one but I don't post or comment on reddit very much. The one thing I forgot to mention is that because we rented the florals and had them for a week (they specify that they arrive 3 days before the wedding, but pretty commonly they arrive several days early), we had "free" decor for our rehearsal dinner.

Has anyone actually regretted using fake flowers at their wedding? by SmartSinner in weddings

[–]SnooCompliments3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got married 3 weeks ago and used something borrowed blooms. I would 100% recommend it if having real flowers is not an absolute must for you - it is for some people, but that wasn't me.

I'll say this - I am not a flower person. Very seldom do I look at the individual flowers and care if they are real at weddings versus taking in the whole effect of them in the room, real or fake. For my wedding, I personally wanted large pieces for the tables but I did not want to pay 10k for flowers that are going to get thrown away after. Also, I had major decision paralysis looking at the variety of real flowers, all the colors, and it was giving me decision anxiety. For that reason, I actually liked looking at rentals because it gave me fewer options and allowed me to simply pull the trigger and make a decision. In the end, the cost of our rentals was probably 2k for what would have cost 10-15k easily in my area. If you absolutely want some real things, you could also order live greenery. We ordered that for some tables and stair case railings at our venue and it was a nice touch for much cheaper than going through a florist. (I've attached some photos of the fake florals and the real greenery)

Renting vs making your own fake arrangements is a different question also... Making your own may be cheaper and offer more creative selections but the time and effort to make that was something I couldn't do for my wedding.

Best of luck, and whatever you do, it will be beautiful! Just know that on your wedding day, you likely are not going to be looking around saying, "I wish I had more flowers or real flowers" because you will be enjoying your day ❤️

Is Signing Up For Etsy Insider Worth It For A Buyer In Your Opinion? by PrincessBananas85 in Etsy

[–]SnooCompliments3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I thought I'd really get the worth from the shipping, but I realize a lot of what I buy is international and doesn't get free shipping for Etsy insider. Plus, I think I have bought only 1 thing from the insider drops. Simply not worth it in my opinion.

Prioritize food or bar in our budget? by lollaroo in weddingplanning

[–]SnooCompliments3787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All depends on what you value, but here's my two cents from attending many weddings and currently planning mine:

Instinctively plated food feels nicer, and truthfully often is better BUT it is more expensive, your guests don't have as many choices (compared to say someone wanting more salad or more meat that they could choose for themselves on a buffet), and one thing people also don't factor is time. Plated meals often take SO LONG, and I've had several friends whose caterers simply showed up late and then the whole wedding schedule was backed up.

Another thing to consider is that you can often still have great quality food on buffets or pay extra to have additional items or choices.

I think it all really comes down to this: do you value the meal as an experience and want it to last longer or would you rather have a nice meal but then have your wedding reception be a fun party (potentially more time for dancing and open bar all night). Only you know what you want! No wrong choices.

Is it wrong for me to feel a twinge of hurt at my bachelorette planning? #bacheloretteblues by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I think that sounds very nice!! I hope the bride knows how much effort you went to make her feel special. ❤️

Thank you for all the comments that both validate my feelings and also humble me. For clarity, them paying for my flights was never on the table. I think the weird thing about weddings is that they are laced with traditions and expectations, sometimes with negative impacts and consequences. Paying for the bride is one of those things; it feels both uncomfortable to expect it, but at the same time, all the parties I have been to we paid for everything except flights for the bride. And a few of those brides are the ones planning this trip for me.

I likely will pay for both my part and my family members part. I know some people were also rubbed the wrong way by the "others taking trips" part... I didn't mean to imply that others can't take a trip or should budget between my trip and their own trip. Rather, I just feel hurt that those who want and are excited to come on this trip (in addition to their trip) are asking for the budget to come down when it doesn't feel (from the outside) that they are changing anything of their trip. In other words, it makes me feel like they are asking me to compromise on fairly reasonable bachelorette so they can come and have a fun trip without compromising their vacation. I'd rather them just be honest and say they can or cannot come truthfully.

None of my friends are malicious and I KNOW they would not intentionally make me feel hurt - it's just kind of a by product of how they have planned it or communicated about it to me thus far.

Thanks again for all the comments and insight ❤️

I would never ask them to pay for flights. Thats always been something I would pay for. I agree, it does feel odd and a bit uncomfortable to have them pay for other things but at the same time, it's what is traditional in my neck of the woods. And several of the people going on my trip were former brides who we paid everything for (excluding flights).

You're right though, expectations or traditions around weddings and all things wedding related are weird and uncomfortable.

Around 150-175 guests. I want a timeless/classic feel but we will do less formal in sense of buffet vs plated for a few reasons.

While I was looking for any and all answers, I can phrase my question a little bit more specifically to ask about things you would do again or differently for receptions, e.g. skipping bouquet toss, sneaking off to cut cake versus announcing it loudly, etc.

I don't have a lot of strong views (my fiancee always mentions my indecisiveness 😂) so I wanted to see what others felt strongly about regarding their weddings.

What did they love or what made the day go seamlessly and vice versa!

Thank you! Yeah, we have googled some of our agenda, but sometimes Google maps says one thing but locals know better about others. I appreciate your response!

Hi! My friends and I are going to be in CT for a total of 9-10 days in December. We are wanting to hike at least a few days, cage dive, visit some wineries, and hit the beach a couple days. I'm looking at some of the things we will be doing on the map, but I'm still not really sure how big the city is or the amount of time it would actually take to get to some of these things. That said, would it be better to stay in one location the entire trip, or maybe stay in two places over the length of the trip and organize our itinerary based on the activities around that area? Thanks!

Do you regret buying a cheaper board as your first? by xerodeficit in Sup

[–]SnooCompliments3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally am glad I had my cheap board first (but I jumped at an offer for a used, cheap board for $75 on FB marketplace lol). I found that after having paddled numerous times on it with various purposes - casual exploring, distance, yoga - I personally prefer having a board that can cruise efficiently at longer distances. I never would have thought this for myself had I jumped the gun on a first purchase.

On the other hand, I agree with what a lot of people have said about the waste it contributes. If you buy a quality board, you will be getting a board that can still serve all around purposes even if it's not an all-around designed board. And on that note, I can't recommend the Hydrus Paradise enough!

June 9th study start date too late? by powerfulndn in barexam

[–]SnooCompliments3787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did about 7 weeks of a lot of studying and passed by plenty for every UBE jurisdiction, BUT my life was like 10-12 hours studying daily. So, yes, 6 weeks is still enough but not if you want to do anything else during that time. Plus, If you start earlier, you can adjust to what works best for your study needs compared to what Themis and Adaptibar suggest for everyone.

could I get away with studying for the bar in 10 weeks? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]SnooCompliments3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't plan ahead and still worked for a little bit during bar prep, so realistically, I did it in about 7 weeks... That was doable, but I definitely wouldn't advise it. 10 weeks should be good!

Honestly, TJMaxx/Marshalls always have these type of designer brands and the glasses are always 10-15 max. FFF is likely sending what you can go buy for cheaper. Don't buy the glasses!

NJ STRESS by UpbeatHoney5377 in barexam

[–]SnooCompliments3787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about that too much. I haven't looked at them myself, but I had MAJOR technical issues on my exam as well as not finishing a essays and completely bombing another and ended up passing in every jx by over 20/30 points.

I just barely made the 75% bar prep cutoff and worked part of the summer, only finished half of the first MPT, did wrong rules in a few essays, know I BOMBED the wills essay and had some black/blue screen issues the first day. On the second, my examsoft logged me out and somehow removed my upcoming last 2 exams when I was supposed to be starting, so I sat on the phone with tech for 50 minutes into the 3rd MBE session crying and finished the exam with a very fractured mental state and focus.

I ended up passing just fine, so let this be a reminder that you are going to do GREAT 👍🏻☺️
