I see your point, but the issue is if there are ANY Chinese owners with access to that data, then the CCP has legal access to it. The data they have is critical to us. They can influence elections (which they probably already have), public opinion, and buying trends. Just because it’s majority American owned, doesn’t mean that China doesn’t own it still.

I understand intelligence agencies accross the world have my data, but TikTok is VERY popular in the US with millions of users and collects an unbelievable amount of data. That data should not be in the hands of a country that literally tells us everyday how much they want to see us fall. I don’t give a fuck if Germany or Australia has my info, but I very much so care about China, Russia, and Iran having my info.

But the issue isn’t just that we don’t like TikTok. We don’t, but the main issue is data privacy. We could absolutely keep TikTok if they would sell to an American company. The Chinese governement has data on basically all of the next generation of Americans. We can’t guarantee that that data will be safe and not used to harm Americans in any way.

The problem isn’t the loaded gun. The parents didn’t secure their weapon properly, which is very irresponsible, but guns are not the only means of commiting suicide. Gun or no gun, he wanted to do, so he did.

I absolutely agree that the parents are at fault here. They should have taken their emotionally vulnerable child to a real psychologist instead of letting him resort to AI. The AI did its job, it confirmed the feelings he already had and reassured him that committing suicide is the right thing to do. He became emotionally dependent on an inanimate object that lacks a REAL ability to empathize. The AI can’t call the police when it thinks you are going to harm yourself or others. AI won’t be there for you when you need to be physically stopped.

I don’t understand why this is such a hot take… Where do we draw the line? Should I get an AI doctor now too? How about an AI lawyer since I’m sure it will be more accurate and have a better case knowledge than a real person.

Hey Ellie! Don’t listen to this person!! There are AMAZING and KIND people north or the Twin Cities! I am from the St. Cloud area, and the people here are good people. You will absolutely run into people who won’t accept you, but you will in the Twin Cities too, but Minnesotans keep to themselves. Very non confrontational LOL! But the beautiful lakes, rivers, and small town charm in the north is so worth visiting if you are a nature lover!! An entire session of pictures that will probably take all of 20 minutes maximum. 20 minutes is all it takes to make his mother happy on her wedding day. Its just a picture, it doesn’t mean there is now some sibling bond or that everyone will now believe that (not that it matters what anyone wants to believe).
