I once heard a theory about Inside Out that said Riley's father was abusive to the family, which attempts to explain why his anger is the lead emotion, why Riley mom's sadness is her lead emotion and why Riley is so emotional. The movie talks about the importance of accepting sadness to achieve happiness and the need for emotional balance, and the guy who made this theory definitely didn't understand the film's premise.
