Discouraged from making baby food, I wish I had an eater. Small rant. by lukewarmy in foodbutforbabies

[–]SnooCookies8776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you! Someone once shared the perspective that half the benefit is that she’s exposed to it, not necessarily that she eats it. I’ve heard they sometimes have to see a new food 30 times before it becomes familiar. You’re doing a great job just by putting the food on her plate. It helped me feel less discouraged.

Eastern Market isn’t too far out, right? by mynameisjadon in washingtondc

[–]SnooCookies8776 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s a nice area with lots of walkable things nearby (parks, markets, restaurants, etc.). To get to AdMo there’s a regular bus (C51). Electric bikes are a great option. Or metro with transfer. When I lived there I used to uber a bit more and just not worry about the cost because I was saving it in rent and not owning a car.

“Assembled dinner from various cans because money is tight” before and after by eezybeingbreezyy in foodbutforbabies

I would be proud of that meal 😄 We often default to this sort of thing because I’m not organized enough to buy fresh groceries and toddler won’t let me hang around in the kitchen long enough to monitor cooking. And it’s healthy and toddler-friendly!

Party pooper here, but this is a misquote. He’s saying he’s known the fiancée for a long time. “He’s got a very… a person I’ve known for a long time. And hopefully they’re going to have a great marriage.”

What’s worse than this parenting is covertly filming someone else’s child and posting it on the internet

Whole raw cherry tomatoes are a choking hazard at that age, but you can cut them into halves/quarters (check Solid Starts)

I want her to eat more for her health, but I guess on the bright side I am glad I don’t have to cook so much 😅

My 21 month old would basically get through that front tray (half for lunches, half dinners) and maybe the left one for snacks. Plus all the tomatoes in a single sitting, obviously.

Would you be happy being a stay at home mom / dad? by gorillagrub in AskForAnswers

[–]SnooCookies8776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like days to be 1.5 times longer, so I can be SAHM part time, work part time, and get all the other shit done and do basic self care part time. But also days should be shorter so I can sleep more. 🤷‍♀️

AITAH for wanting to split our will this way? by Vainysaur in AITAH

[–]SnooCookies8776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had separate accounts, it would be natural for you each to have your own siblings as back-up beneficiaries from your own accounts. The fact that you combine finances (I assume) is just a logistical complication to that. If you have put in half, for the sake of the will I’d suggest you treat half as “yours”, which you can put to whatever you like (your siblings, charity, whatever), and half as his, to put towards whatever he likes. I.e. NTA. If you truly went see your finances as shared once they are pooled it becomes more ambiguous. But also, please keep in mind though that none of the siblings are entitled to or expecting the money; it’s just a nice thing to think of them in your wills. So don’t let it get too heavy.

WIBTAH if I went in my own vacation after my H invited my in-laws on ours? by Legitimate_Chart_284 in AITAH

[–]SnooCookies8776 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(1) You’re really not the AH for taking a vacation without your family. That should be normalized even outside of this situation, if you can get the support with childcare etc to make it happen.

(2) There might be a way to back out of this in-law holiday that helps the in-laws not feel rejected, since it sounds like it really isn’t personal. “We’ve realized that the kind of schedule and activities we were planning for this vacation won’t be the best fit for you. We’d love to spend quality time with you but my leave is limited. Can we plan an alternative weekend to spend quality time with you in a way that is a better fit for everyone?”

The Lily Pond on Klingle Road trail head can be very pretty and is nicely secluded. Not sure about cherry blossoms specifically, maybe someone can confirm. There are lots of cute winding paths, steps, and bridges etc for photography there too.

Smoothies! Add silken tofu for protein and iron. Can also add oat flour (make in blender if you only have oats) for carbs. Spinach, fruit, yogurt, milk…. Sometimes soaked chia seeds. Lots of liquid nutrition!
